The World Water Council recently completed a strategic advocacy mission across Asia and the Middle East, holding pivotal meetings in Beijing, Abu Dhabi, and Delhi. These discussions emphasized the critical need for governance-based water security, particularly in China. The World Water Council engaged with key stakeholders, including the Chinese Minister of Water Resources, the Indonesian Minister of Public Works and Housing, the Minister of Water Resources of Uzbekistan, and the Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation of Malaysia. At the Asia International Water Week, President of the World Water Council, Mr. Fauchon, underscored the importance of hydro diplomacy in addressing global water challenges. He reaffirmed WWC's dedication to fostering collaboration across sectors to promote sustainable water management. The World Water Council remains committed to supporting Asia's pivotal role in closing the global water gap and stands as a trusted partner in this critical mission.

Loïc Fauchon, President of the World Water Council, participated as a global water leader in the inauguration of the 8th India Water Week, held in New Delhi from September 17-19, 2024, as President of India, Madam Droupadi Murmu, graced the event.   He also engaged in a bilateral meeting with India's Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri C.R. Paatil, to discuss India's active role and its organizations' involvement in the World Water Council.   The discussion emphasized India's leadership in demonstrating successful cooperation across all levels. In support of Southern nations, the World Water Council recognizes India's key role in addressing the water gap—serving as a strong example of hydro-diplomacy through effective collaboration.
