🎉 Today, May 29, a special commemorative stamp was issued by the Sri Lanka Post to celebrate IWMI's 40th anniversary, and four decades of partnership with Sri Lanka. The Prime Minister, Dinesh Gunawardena, visited IWMI's global headquarters in Colombo and received the first stamp. 💧 Since 1984, IWMI has contributed to shaping water management practices in Sri Lanka and the world. In the last 40 years, IWMI has grown in scale, impact and areas of research — from an institute focused on water for agriculture to a global leader in integrated water management. Looking forward, IWMI will continue to contribute to Sri Lanka's water security and climate goals. #OneCGIAR #40YearsinSriLanka #WaterSecurity

Introducing Mega-WaHa, a groundbreaking device that extracts pure water directly from the air, producing 500 liters per day—no matter the region, climate, or environmental conditions. 🌬️💦 AquaPoro and partners are working alongside a local farmer to deploy the Mega-WaHa in Jordan's refugee-host communities, aiming to produce at least 182,500 liters (182m³) of fresh water for crop production in 2025. This innovation will save an equivalent amount of water from Jordan’s national supply, demonstrating the immense potential for boosting water security if adopted widely. 🚜💧 This game-changing solution shows that widespread adoption of such technologies could drastically enhance water security across Jordan, paving the way for a more sustainable future. 🌱💡 👉 Explore more here: on.cgiar.org/3R9wjwo MAHA Al-ZU'BI, Ph.D. | Mirja Michalscheck | Josey KAMANDA, PhD | World Food Programme #WaterHarvesting #InnovationScaling #OneCGIAR

🔍 What is the Water Resilience Tracker (WRT)? The Water Resilience Tracker (WRT) is a first-of-its-kind diagnostic tool that helps governments integrate water resilience into their National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). 💡 What makes it unique? The WRT provides demand-driven policy and technical assistance, helping governments assess their water resilience strategies and make informed decisions for climate adaptation. 🌍 Who is behind the Tracker? The Alliance for Global Water Adaptation (AGWA), Arup, Deltares, and IWMI are the core partners working to bridge the science-to-policy interface through the Tracker. 📍 What’s the latest update? These partners recently met in Colombo, Sri Lanka (February 10-13, 2025) to discuss the Tracker’s progress and next steps for expanding its implementation in more countries. 📖 Want to learn more? 🌱 Agriculture at a Crossroads 🌍 Water scarcity, soil degradation, and erratic rainfall threaten food systems and ecosystems. But hope is growing. CGIAR’s Nature-Positive Solutions Initiative is tackling these challenges head-on with innovations like aquifer mapping, water harvesting, and soil conservation. In Maharashtra’s Akole and Shahada, these strategies have boosted groundwater recharge, soil moisture, and crop yields—proving resilience is possible. This isn’t just local success; it’s a global blueprint for balancing agriculture and environmental health. Let’s grow a future where both thrive. 🌾✨ Read more in this feature by IWMI and other researchers. 👉 on.cgiar.org/3X0npok Abhijit behera | Mansi Tripathi | Dr. Alok Sikka | BAIF Development Research Foundation | Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT | #NaturePositiveSolutions #OneCGIAR
