    🔧 Teardown, assembly and cost analysis - Desay Smart Cockpit Controller for Chang’an Aito M7 We’ve just completed our full teardown and analysis of the Desay Smart #Cockpit Controller used in the #Chang’an #Aito M7. After an in-depth examination, we successfully identified the processor and analyzed the system’s architecture. The controller comprises four boards, including a WiFi/Bluetooth module and a dedicated processing unit, which is cooled by thermoelectric #technology.   We also explored how the WiFi/Bluetooth antennas are integrated into the second electronic board, adding to the system's efficiency.     🔧 Teardown, assembly and cost analysis - Desay Smart Cockpit Controller for Chang’an Aito M7 We are currently analyzing a smart cockpit controller from Desay, which is used in the Chang’an Aito M7. During our preliminary analysis, we found that the #system is composed of four boards, including a WiFi/Bluetooth module and another dedicated to processing. We aim to identify the #processor used and understand the system's functionalities compared to competing cockpit controllers. Additionally, we noticed that the processing unit and the #memories associated with it are cooled by thermoelectric cooling.     🔧 Teardown, assembly, and cost analysis – Huawei 192-line LiDAR for Luxeed S7 & Aito M9 We recently analyzed Huawei's 192-line LiDAR, integrated into the Luxeed S7 and Aito M9 #vehicles. Huawei, a relatively new player in the #automotive sector, is showing its determination to break through where others, like Apple, have stepped back. Huawei has developed advanced systems like LiDAR, which raises the question of how they've navigated the constraints on sourcing critical components. Our goal was to understand Huawei's approach and estimate the total manufacturing cost of this sophisticated system. Upon analysis, we found that Huawei still relies on several American components with relatively few Chinese components involved. What’s particularly groundbreaking is the use of a SPAD sensor in an automotive #LiDAR for the first time. Our focus was on the rear inverter, a critical component manufactured by UAES that contributes to the vehicle’s performance and efficiency. We sought to uncover the specific power module used in this inverter. We discovered that the UAES rear inverter is equipped with #IGBT Power Modules from Semikron Danfoss. These modules are renowned for their reliability and efficiency, playing a crucial role in providing the power and precision needed to drive #electric #vehicles.     🔧 Teardown, assembly, and cost analysis – Apple AirPods 4 (ANC) Apple has recently unveiled the latest generation of its classic #AirPods, the Series 4, which integrates features previously reserved for the Pro models. Active Noise Cancellation (#ANC), once a key feature of the AirPods Pro, is now available in this version, providing a more immersive listening experience. The case has also been redesigned with a simpler and more compact form, featuring a built-in speaker for easier location tracking, as well as a touch-sensitive surface replacing traditional physical buttons. Additionally, the AirPods 4 are equipped with the H2 chip, delivering improved performance in sound processing and connectivity.
