I am delighted to share our recent paper published in the journal “Construction and Building Materials”. This manuscript deals with the fire behavior of biobased concretes. The relevant parameters for predicting the ignition of biobased concretes have been highlighted. The underlying aim is to help reduce the risk of fire in the building sector. Green Deconstruction with Taisei’s Tecorep System Taisei Corporation, a Japanese construction company, is transforming demolition practices with its Ecological Reproduction System (Tecorep). This innovative method was used to deconstruct the Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka in Tokyo, reducing the 140-meter-high building to 110 meters. The process employs large jacks and electricity-generating cranes, allowing for a controlled, systematic, and environmentally friendly demolition. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗩𝗲𝗖𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶-𝗣𝗩 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 Over the past few weeks, we have presented our vertical Agri-PV system in field use. But how is it designed? Right from the start, it was important to us to keep the structure and installation simple while keeping the use of steel to a minimum. Our system consists of the following three basic components: ➔ Vertical steel structure consisting of pile-driven foundations and field pillars ➔ Horizonal steel structure consisting of support tubes ➔ Bifacial photovoltaic modules Rammed foundations mean that no concrete is required on the field. An indispensable factor for sustainable agriculture. The distance between the vertical steel structures within a row is around 9 meters, resulting to a steel load of around 40 kg/kWp in combination with the support tube. And that with a total height of the system of around 5 meters, or a clear height under the modules of 2.1 meters. This is made possible above all by the suspension of the modules: These are simply attached to the support tube and can move freely in the wind. We will explain exactly how this works in a follow-up article. So, feel free to follow us.😊 Another advantage? Our system is almost maintenance-free. The vertical structure reduces the amount of dirt adhering to the modules and the rain provides a natural cleaning effect. ------------------------------- 𝗗𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝗳𝗯𝗮𝘂 𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗩𝗲𝗖𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗶-𝗣𝗩 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 In den vergangenen Wochen haben wir unser vertikales Agri-PV System im Feldeinsatz vorgestellt. Aber wie ist es eigentlich aufgebaut? Von Anfang an war es uns wichtig, die Struktur und Installation einfach zu gestalten sowie den Stahleinsatz so gering wie möglich zu halten. Unser System besteht aus den folgenden drei Grundkomponenten: ➔ Die vertikale Stahlstruktur aus Rammfundament und Feldsteher ➔ Die horizontale Stahlstruktur aus Tragrohren ➔ Die bifazialen Photovoltaik-Module Durch eine Rammfundamentierung wird kein Beton auf dem Feld benötigt. Für eine nachhaltige Landwirtschaft ein unentbehrlicher Faktor. Der Abstand zwischen den vertikalen Stahlstrukturen innerhalb einer Reihe liegt bei ca. 9 Meter, was in Kombination mit dem Tragrohr zu einem Stahleinsatz von etwa 40 kg/kWp führt. Und dass bei einer Systemgesamthöhe von etwa 5 Metern, bzw. einer lichten Höhe unter den Modulen von 2,1 Metern. Möglich macht das vor allem die Aufhängung der Module: Diese sind lediglich am Tragrohr befestigt und können sich im Wind frei bewegen.
