[BACK ON TRACK! 🏊🏼] A warm welcome to the participants of the START and LAUNCH Fall 2024 programmes, who joined a cohort of 120 peers from around the world at this week's kick-off session! The two programmes are attended by ESCP Business School students and alumni entrepreneurs—those exploring a new idea #START and those working on prototyping their projects #LAUNCH 🚀 🔸 To kick things off, we invited them to dive deep into the entrepreneurial creative process with the Masterclass: “Demystifying Entrepreneurship,” hosted by Maëva Tordo, head of the Blue Factory in Paris. 💡 This masterclass focused on the challenges of #effectuation and aimed to confront the field in a straightforward way, taking a step back from preconceived ideas around entrepreneurship. 🔸 What’s better than meeting fellow entrepreneurs? We continued the evening with a massive online networking session, where all participants were split into small groups. 🪐 Time to accelerate our support for entrepreneurs in Europe! Meet with our new Turin, London and Berlin teams, and help us find our next perl for Madrid :) It’s been a bit more than a year that our team grew full time across our 5 ESCP Business School locations, preparing new local programmes and connecting with local ecosystems. Reach out to them if you’re in town! 🇮🇹 🍝 Simone Marino has been the first folk to join, with his 15 years of experience in open innovation mainly developing startups programmes for Banca Sella. He has entrepreneurship and education at heart being involved in a school dropout project too. Building new programmes connecting startups and corporate is clearly his thing: for now he’s launching a brand new programme with our new partner Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, stay tuned... 🇬🇧 💻 Harry McDonough embraced the challenge of starting our activities in the vibrant London ecosystem. Following a similar path as many students, he founded a university spinout where he successfully ideated, built, tested, raised funds, and commercialised, leading to its acquisition. Harry has also led central government programs supporting early-stage Innovative founders. He champions entrepreneurship as a tool for empowerment and advocates for inclusivity. Join his first major pitch event with Northeastern University on October 8th! 🇩🇪 💼 Livia Zimermann de Araujo Durigan lastly joined to run our Blue Factory in Berlin and bring her talent to the growth and development of the entrepreneurial community. With over 15 years of experience in founding and scaling companies across Brazil and Germany, Livia focuses on driving impact through innovation. Discover our main events of the week with the students, alumni and our community across the campuses!👇 1️⃣ Open Days 🔮: our teams presented our supports to the students for their arrival at ESCP Business School campuses! In Paris we held an ideation workshop by Maëva Tordo and a #pitch & demo by Tristan Camilli, co-founder of Luphy.io #techfinance entrepreneur in our #launchprogramme and Paul Basbous, co-founder of Lexo.fr #techmusic. 2️⃣ Circular Innovators & Leaders Event in Berlin 🌿: In partnership with our alumni Sebastian Daus from FixFirst - The OS for Circular Services & Products, we hosted a fascinating fireside chat and pitch competition as an official ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) side event, focused on innovations in the circular economy. The event brought together industry leaders like Dr. Dr. Marianne Kuhlmann co-founder of Circularity, Carsten Waldeck co-founder of Shift, Fynn Wolken WERTGARANTIE Group, and Rémi Laoubi, Circular Berlin, all this moderated by Marlen Heske - NEEW Ventures, the discussion sparked meaningful dialogue around the future of sustainability and circularity. 3️⃣ AI Ecosystem Visit 🤖: This week we took a deep dive into Berlin’s vibrant AI scene, hosted by K.I.E.Z. Künstliche Intelligenz Entrepreneurship Zentrum at the Berlin AI Campus. Special thanks to Andras G. Varga and Tobias Szarowicz for the warm welcome!
