🎉 End of June 2024, Jean-Baptiste Say Institute - ESCP Business School Berlin had a team get-together on a boat in Havel! It was a wonderful chance to mingle with our new PhD students and welcome fresh faces like Livia Zimermann de Araujo Durigan, the new head of Blue Factory Berlin. 🤝 This gathering was also a celebration of the conclusion of our EXIST Potentiale project “Best Place”, and we took the opportunity to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to this project. At the same time, we bid farewell to some team members who put in tremendous effort into the current version of Blue Factory. 🚀 As this event marked both an ending and a new beginning for Blue Factory, we're full of excitement for what the future holds! #ESCP #Entrepreneurship #ESCPBlueFactory #JeanBaptisteSayInstitute

✨ This past June, ESCP Business School's five campuses came together in Paris for our annual assembly. Over these few days, we engaged in enlightening discussions about the future direction of the Jean-Baptiste Say Institute - ESCP Business School. It was an exceptional opportunity packed with discussions and ideas to build stronger bonds with colleagues from other campuses. 🎤 We held a series of member-led sessions aimed at keeping everyone informed and updated. Inventive ideas for the future of the Say Institute were brought to the table, sparking anticipation for the transformation ahead. 🙌 We also paid particular attention to welcoming our new colleagues taking care of startup support, including Harry McDonough, the new Head of Blue Factory in London, Livia Zimermann de Araujo Durigan, the new Head of Blue Factory Berlin, and Julia Maigné, the new program manager of Blue Factory Paris. 🔑 In addition, we arranged proper handovers for key tasks: Christoph Seckler will assume the role of Head of European Research Committee from Jiang Yi Dragon, Rand Gerges-Yammine will take over the Head of Teaching and Learning duties from Robert Sheldon, and Robert Sheldon will become the European Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Department, succeeding René Mauer. The assembly in Paris was a resounding success, marked by productive discussions, strategic planning, and a renewed sense of community and collaboration. We look forward to seeing the innovative ideas discussed come to fruition and to continuing our journey towards excellence together. #ESCP #Entrepreneurship #ESCPBlueFactory #JeanBaptisteSayInstitute

🎓🌟 Congratulations to Dr. Sophia Braun on the successful defense of her doctoral thesis! 🌟🎓 It's with immense pride that we announce Sophia's remarkable achievement in defending her thesis titled "Uncertainty and Effectuation in Corporate and Policy Entrepreneurship." Under the guidance of René Mauer, Sophia's dissertation explored the critical intersection of uncertainty management and effectuation in entrepreneurship, corporate environments, and policymaking. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sophia's Doctoral Committee comprised of René Mauer, Saras Sarasvathy and Christian Durach. 🔍 Sophia's research underscores the vital importance of adeptly navigating uncertainty and fostering impactful outcomes in the dynamic landscapes of entrepreneurship and corporate governance. Her insights shed light on the indispensable skills needed to thrive in the 21st-century business and policy realms. A cornerstone of her research dealt with uncertainty competence that was comprised of the ability to transform unpredictability to novelty, and then novelty to possibility by using the principles of #effectuation, and hence making uncertainty the base for #cocreation. 💼 We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Sophia for her dedication, perseverance, and scholarly contributions throughout her doctoral journey.
