Some of the notable models include collaborative projects such as 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗣𝗣 (Estrogen Receptor activity) and 𝗖𝗼𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔 (for the Androgen Receptor activity), which offer valuable insights into assessing the ED potential of both existing and new chemicals. The synergy between available #invitro testing and #insilico models has the potential to reshape the future of ED evaluation. The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) has recently published a report on 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗡𝗔𝗠𝘀) 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆, in which authors: a) provide an outcome of a comprehensive literature review on the current use of #NAMs under different #regulatoryframeworks, b) summarize how NAMs are integrated by the regulators for chemical #riskassessment (regulatory readiness of NAMs) and c) outline current barriers to the further integration of NAMs into regulatory decisions-making process 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: https://lnkd.in/eABrYD6q NAMs encompass a wide range of methodologies (e.g., #invitro, #insilico, #omics, etc.), each varying in terms of current application and regulatory readiness. NAMs have successfully replaced #animaltesting for certain regulatory endpoints, such as skin sensitisation; however, their application remains limited in addressing systemic toxicity. With continued advancements, we hope that improved and emerging methods will help overcome existing challenges! At CEHTRA, we are integrating more and more NAM-based strategies for our client projects. A recent report published as an outcome of an European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) procurement compared different 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘰 methodologies to predict the toxic potential of novel proteins. Additionally, the authors propose an innovative #AI-based approach that integrates these tools, with the aim of further improving the accuracy and reliability of the results. We are pleased to announce the full 2024 version of our “NAMs – Use and Application of QSAR and Read-across” course is now published and live. The tutor-assisted eLearning course has now been extended from 16 hours to over 25 hours of lectures with new quizzes and home assignments. The content includes the latest developments in this field including how to utilize QSAR under the QAF guidance. Software demonstrations have been updated with the latest models and software releases. We are also thrilled to introduce subtitles in multiple languages for our training videos. Subtitles throughout the course are now available in English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian. This enhancement is aimed at making our content more accessible and comprehensible to a diverse, global audience. With these subtitles, you can follow along more easily if English is not your first language and deepen your understanding of complex topics in your preferred language. As with the 2022 version, the course includes one-to-one video meetings with the tutor and the facility to ask the tutor questions throughout the course duration. The course is recognised by EUROTOX for Continued Professional Development for ERT accredited toxicologists. What an eventful couple of days! Eighteen excellent talks, seven posters and countless stimulating discussions over delicious refreshments.
