The Centre has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Entrepreneurs Club (China) to forge a strategic partnership dedicated to enhancing China-Ghana economic ties. Representing the two organizations, GIPC CEO Yofi Grant and Entrepreneurs Club Executive Chairman and General Secretary YU Jinlong signed the MOU, which outlines a framework for cooperation between the two entities to attract investments in both countries. This MOU paves the way for strengthened collaboration, focusing on knowledge exchange, investment facilitation, and shared opportunities.

A delegation of investors from Asia, led by Deputy Finance Minister Hon. Stephen Amoah, paid a courtesy visit to the Centre to explore investment opportunities. In his engagement with the team, our CEO, Mr. Yofi Grant, discussed Ghana's promising position within Africa's investment landscape, emphasizing its Opportunities, Openness, and Optimism. He touched on the country's political stability and robust economy, highlighting opportunities in agriculture, mining, tourism, manufacturing, energy, real estate, and ICT. Mr. Grant also talked about the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), noting its potential to drive economic growth by creating the world’s largest tariff-free market since the WTO, which investors can leverage. As the headquarters of the AfCFTA, Mr. Grant remarked that “Ghana is well-positioned to provide investors with easier access to the broader African market of 1.2 billion people.” The delegation expressed strong interest in collaborating with local partners to establish a presence in the country.

Leading e-commerce platform, Jumia reinforced its commitment to the Ghanaian market, by launching its new Integrated Warehouse in Tema, Ghana, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. According to the CEO of Jumia Ghana, Temidayo Ojo, “Ghana is our fastest-growing market in the group today,” adding that it has become essential for the company to invest in infrastructure that enables improved customer service and support for the local economy. Dr. Samuel Antwi-Gyekyi, Director of Research, Statistics, and Information at the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, commended Jumia Ghana for its consistent role in driving economic growth and its substantial investment in service delivery. He said the government envisions “a future where many more Ghanaian businesses will seamlessly come online, igniting a surge in e-commerce activities that will create boundless opportunities for growth and development”.
