Kokrobite Chiltern Centre is a UK registered charity, initially registered as an NGO in Ghana in 2005, which works to enable disadvantaged children and young people in Ghana to access and sustain education in line with the Sustainable Development Goals as identified by the UN. By working at a grass roots level we are able to provide consistency and constancy in our educational sponsorship, additional learning opportunities and support for children thereby increasing the awareness and number of life choices available to them. Alongside this we also work directly with schools to provide professional development for teachers and provision of resources including bottle built structures and strategic planning and are currently the implementing partner for a UKAid funded programme of Tools for Teachers - Special Educational Needs Training.

We’ve just come to the end of another fantastic visit from a group of dedicated and hard working students and teachers from @iszlofficial @iszlsustainability We’ve been working with ISZL since 2013 and they never cease to amaze us with what they’re able to achieve. This trip, alongside our local team, they’ve been working on construction of a Rocket Stove atelier, Black Soldier Fly Farm and a room for vertical mushroom farming as well as redesigning and developing our aquaponics systems. All projects that we hope will enable us to become more environmentally friendly and ensure sustainability while allowing us to educate others and replicate the systems elsewhere offering alternative options to generate income. A great week with the U12 players, coaches and parents from @VfB Stuttgart as the start to their #CaringForTheRoots project. Youth Forum Switzerland kicked off this evening with a pre-event Event focusing on the International School of Zug and Luzern student sustainability initiatives for a parent audience. It was great to hear the passion and energy with which these students talked alongside the inspiring ISZL partners Kokrobite Chiltern Centre Jaideep Bansal and Raffael Känzig. Next up the official pre-forum event for our visiting schools.
To all of KCC’s friends and supporters. With your assistance, this has been a very successful year for KCC. In 2023, we have: - Supported more than 200 children through educational sponsorship and provision of learning resources - Opened our second community learning centre (The Sankofa Learning Centre). This one has been built using plastic bottles, a great method of environmentally sustainable construction - Supported more than 10 schools through teacher professional development and provision of teaching resources - Delivered weekly computer coding and robotics sessions to children aged 6 – 15 years in partnership with Ghana Code Club - In conjunction with University of Ghana Dental School provided dental care for more than 300 children - Started a new girls football squad (the Agojies) for those aged 10 – 18 years - Provided support and training for three boys football squads who play in the U13, U15 and U17 leagues - Hosted more than 80 volunteers aged 12– 70 years, both groups and individuals, who support our environmental projects including bottle building, aquaponics, rocket stoves and provision of toilet facilities for local schools. - Shipped more than 90 boxes of supplies that you kindly donated from England to Ghana - Completely refreshed and updated our website, to provide you with a more complete and clearer picture of our activities - Held our 20th Christmas Party providing food, drink, entertainment and gifts for 1,600 children This is a photo of us and the students who worked so hard to ensure the success of the Christmas Party, all of the students here have benefited from KCC’s support and we love their willingness to help those who are coming after them.
