Silo Is Coming to Comic-Con and We’re Wildly Excited About It

The Apple TV+ show starring Rebecca Ferguson, Common, and Tim Robbins is gearing up for season two.

San Diego Comic-Con 2024 is already gearing up to be a return to the Comic-Con of old. Marvel Studios will be there. The new Alien movie will be there. The Penguin will be there. Transformers One will be there. And more and more news will be revealed in the coming days. To this point though, one panel has us excited above the rest and we’re gonna tell you why. It’s for Apple TV+’s sci-fi show, Silo.

Silo was released in 2023 and follows the story of a group of people who live underground because they believe the surface world is uninhabitable. Which… maybe it is and maybe it isn’t. Rebecca Ferguson is the star and though we came to it a few months late, we quickly became obsessed with the well-acted, beautiful made show based on the novels of Hugh Howey.

Now it’s been over a year though, and while, yes, strikes were happening, there’s been no official word on when season two will arrive. We know it’s been filmed. It exists. It’s in the works. But we have no clue when we’ll get to see it, which is a shame because season one ended on a massive cliffhanger.

That’s one big reason why a Comic-Con panel is so exciting. It’s all but confirmation that a season two release date and trailer are on the way. Will it be out later this year? Or will it be closer to another highly anticipated second season of a one-word sci-fi show on Apple TV+, Severance, which is coming in 2025?

We don’t yet know. But, we do know that if Apple TV+ is bringing Silo, and two years ago it did a massive, immersive experience for Severance, it’s highly likely that show is coming too. And for sci-fi fans, Silo with Severance is as exciting a one-two combo as Deadpool and Wolverine.

Apple announced that Silo will have its panel Saturday, July 27, and it’ll include star and executive producer Rebecca Ferguson, co-star Common, creator and showrunner Graham Yost, and executive producer Hugh Howey, plus “surprise special guests.” io9 will do its best to be there.
