𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐮𝐮𝐤: 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 – 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝! Greenland Airports has officially taken over the new runway in Nuuk from contractor Munck Gruppen a/s, marking a significant milestone in the project! Munck has been instrumental in executing the construction, and we’d like to extend our thanks for their dedication to developing Nuuk’s new international airport! The next milestone is securing permission from the Danish Civil Aviation and Railway Authority (Trafikstyrelsen) to accommodate large transatlantic aircraft starting November 28. In the coming weeks, Greenland Airports will work diligently to meet all regulatory requirements to ensure a smooth launch. The runway isn't the only recent major development at the airport. A new access road to the airport is also complete and open. With two roads now leading to the airport, traffic flow is expected to improve. #NewNuukAirport #FromGreenlandToTheWorld #GreenlandAirports #Infrastructure #NuukAirport #AviationIndustry #GreenlandProjects #TrafficManagement

The contractor, KJ Greenland A/S, has just completed the installation of exterior walls and the roof on the terminal building of the upcoming Qaqortoq Airport. With the structure now protected from snow and rain, the interior work can begin, allowing the crew to focus on tasks that require dry conditions. This includes installation work and the construction of interior walls, among other projects. In the photos, you can see how the terminal looked just before the final wall panels were installed. You'll also get a glimpse of the large open space before the interior walls and other installations are added. The Qaqortoq Airport is scheduled to open in 2026. #AviationDevelopment #QaqortoqAirport #GreenlandInfrastructure #ConstructionUpdate #AirportProjects #2026Opening #TerminalBuilding #GreenlandGrowth #KJGreenland #ArcticDevelopment

The world’s largest and most prominent aviation event focused on route development – Routes World – is currently taking place in Bahrain, with representatives from Greenland Airports joining 2,300 aviation professionals from around the globe. On Routes World, Greenland Airports CEO Jens Lauridsen and Business Developer Milan Vraa notes that the interest in Arctic vacations is on the rise. This year, for instance, they're discussing the possibilities of direct flights to Greenland from hubs in North America and Northern Europe with the airlines. Greenland Airports has been in contact with airlines for several years. But as we're now able to showcase a working terminal, a newly paved runway and an international airport in Nuuk that will open in a short while, it makes for even more focused and concrete discussions. At this year's Routes World, airlines are showing a particular interest in the growing number of passengers traveling to Greenland in recent years. Also, they're inquiring about accommodation options and tour operators, and – all in all – this makes for a very promising future for tourism and traveling in Greenland! #Aviation #GreenlandAirports #RoutesWorld2024 #DirectFlights #ArcticTravel #Nuuk #TourismGrowth #FutureofTravel #AviationIndustry
