🚀 Takeaways from “Financing #adultlearning: zooming in on #individualearningaccounts #ILA.” Our discussions focused on countries with complex and varied public financing arrangements for adult learning (such as Germany, the Netherlands, and Austria) with the aim to identify how individual learning accounts could fit in existing institutional set-up and ensure complementarity. 🔑 Key Findings: ☑️ In complex contexts, the process of finding the most appropriate place for ILAs involves two stages: 1️⃣ Stage one: consider the patterns of already existing financing arrangements, and 2️⃣ Stage two: identify the types of training/adult learning best supported by ILA schemes. 🔑 Other emerging findings highlight: a) the need to secure additional and sustainable public funding for ILA and adult learning; b) the importance of an enabling framework (#careerguidance, validation opportunities, paid training leave, registry of quality training provision, etc.) and related funding considerations, and c) the need for broad stakeholder involvement for successful ILA implementation.
