👩🏿💻Η τελική εκδήλωση του έργου "RECLAIM | Ευρωπαϊκά πρότυπα" φιλοξένησε σημαντικές φωνές για την ενδυνάμωση των γυναικών στη δημόσια σφαίρα αλλά και στον ψηφιακό κόσμο. Η συζήτηση ανέδειξε θέματα ισότητας, αυτονομίας και ηγεσίας γυναικών, με έμφαση στην ανάγκη για αλληλεγγύη και ισότιμη εκπροσώπηση των φύλων σε θέσεις ηγεσίες. Επισημάνθηκε, μάλιστα, η ανάγκη για αναδιαμόρφωση του όρου ηγεσίας ώστε να μην συνδέεται με φυλετικά χαρακτηριστικά. Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης, έγινε εκτενής συζήτηση για τη σημασία αποφυγής περιορισμού των γυναικών σε παραδοσιακούς ρόλους και τον ουσιαστικό καθορισμό μικρών, αλλά σημαντικών στόχων προς την έμφυλη ισότητα. Η εκδήλωση αποτελεί ένα ορόσημο για την προώθηση της ισότητας των φύλων, επιβεβαιώνοντας τη δέσμευση του ΕΛΙΑΜΕΠ για τη διαμόρφωση ενός πιο δίκαιου και ισότιμου αύριο. I want to write few words about my experience during the Open Conf event because the energy of it brings so much hope for Greece and shows how the Tech community can uplift the country.   I would like to first thank the organizing team and Nokia Greece because their work was truly remarkable. Fully organized, helped all of the speakers at every step of the way, chosen location was inspiring, what a fantastic place University of West Attica. The Auditorium was full (about 400+ people) and I talked about AI Capabilities, Ethics, Limitations, and Potential in front of a full audience of Software Engineers, Architects, Designers, Data Scientists, University Professors , and so many more tech roles. Keynote talk from Scott Chacon (co-founder of GitHub), THE rockstar.   Honoured that I received great feedback from Dr. Diomidis Spinellis who all of us admire so much. During the event he received the Open Ecosystem Award for his inspiring academic leadership & education, fostering the Greek Technical Ecosystem.   Evening of Friday was dedicated to tech mentoring sessions together with my fellow Greek Women Do Tech brilliant ladies Anni Panagiotopoulou, Lysandra Sokkou and Konstantina Rodi. All of us just loved to talk on AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, AdTech, Software Engineering, Marketing, Fintech / what type of tools and knowledge you need to make wonders in these fields - loved that I talked on how we work in Dataseat (Now part of Verve Group) and Verve Group to students eager to enter our fields. I’d like to give also special kudos to some good friends and teammates to our cause Lilian Balatsou, PhD from Greek Girls Code and Eleni Aktypi from WE LEAD – organized some brilliant workshops to support the women in tech empowerement. And of course to all of the rest Women-Led Initiatives (supported by Accenture Greece and brought together by Despina Kitsou) for their great work.   Met so many old friends and even university colleagues back from 2004(!), made some new ones. I woke up to getting featured in Times Square 🤯 Choosing to getting into AI is really the best decision I've ever made. I made that decision back in 2007 when we were asked to choose our optional modules in College. Introduction to ML was the last one in a list of 10 or so, alongside Computational Finance, Graphics, Quantum Computing and more options that were all more popular than Machine Learning. People were confused by my decision but remember choosing it because of my love for computer games and felt that it was closely related to gaming (creating responsive / intelligent behaviors). I had always thought I'd work in the gaming industry, but here we are in the world of Gen AI, embodied & custom virtual agents & the Metaverse ...and we are only getting started. -------------- Follow Marily Nika, Ph.D for insights, trends & education on AI & Product Management
