Climate change significantly affects the shipping sector and has direct and indirect impacts, which could potentially disrupt shipping activities, increase costs and require adjustments to infrastructure and planning. Shipping plays a critical role in global trade and transport, but it also contributes to greenhouse gas emissions to a significant extent. To tackle this challenge, the shipping industry is actively working to adopt sustainable and climate-resilient practices. On October 10, 2023 the German-Greek Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the framework of an initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection and in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Piraeus and Navigator Shipping Consultants Ltd successfully organized a conference in Piraeus on Green Technologies and Digitalization in the Greek and German shipping industry. In the framework of this conference, specialized Greek and German speakers presented their views on the impact of climate change on shipping and the need to adapt to energy requirements, while German companies presented their services and the prospects for their application in Greece.  MStR Law Firm having strong involvement in the energy sector both at land and sea level was present at such an important conference with its associate specialized in maritime and energy law, Paraskevi Paschali. Our team is always next to Greek and foreign companies that provide either land or sea services and aim at energy sustainability. MStR Law welcomes the lawyer Dimitra Georgaki A new collaboration has begun for our company with the lawyer Mrs. Dimitra Georgaki.  Mrs. Georgaki has specialized in Commercial and Company Law, in Erasmus University Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. She is already experienced in international sale contracts, corporate compliance and restructuring. She has also worked on the implementation of data protection legislation in commercial and banking transactions. Along with our other associates, she will cover important issues and provide solutions to the companies which MStR Law works with. Our law firm looks forward to Mrs. Georgaki's European experience and will delve with her into new areas requiring innovative legal opinions in new areas of law that are evolving in the European arena.
