Wondering how to implement the May ‘24 updates to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) in your country? World Green Building Council and our Europe Regional Network (ERN) have been studying policy measures already in action in several areas of Europe. Our latest reports examine these approaches in detail so others can see what’s working and design their own green building policies that fulfil the requirements set out in the #EPBD. This includes places like Flanders and the Netherlands, where Minimum Energy Performance Standards (#MEPS) show signs of accelerating renovation rates. Or Sweden, Denmark, Paris and London, where buildings’ carbon impact is being assessed across the whole building life cycle. Member States have until May 2026 to transpose the provisions of the updated EPBD. Clúster de la Industrialización de la Construcción de Navarra, Spain ●  Fundación Galicia Constrúe, Spain ●  Cluster da Madeira e o Deseño de Galicia, Spain ●  Green Net Finland, Finland ●  Innovation 4 Society, Belgium ●  STRESS s.c.ar.l, Italy In September 2024, the B4PIC Network also welcomed Novabuild, a new Innovation Cluster from Pays de la Loire, further strengthening the network’s commitment to innovation in the built environment. ✍🏽The B4PICs were supported by the Nebula consortium as they each demonstrated their further commitment to the B4PIC network by signing the charter at the Built4People Stakeholder Forum in Luxembourg on Monday 23 September. The nine clusters join the first members of the B4PIC Network, BUILD:INN, Basque Construction Cluster and Odéys, who signed the B4PIC Charter in 2023. What is a Built4People Innovation Cluster (B4PIC)? A B4PIC is a group of innovation-driven stakeholders from the built environment that engage in a maturing process, nurtured by the #STARtrackB4P and Nebula projects (under the umbrella of the  B4P Partnership), to enhance the sustainability and impact of its members' innovations. 🌟Watch this space!🌟 Six further clusters from Serbia 🇷🇸, France 🇫🇷, Italy 🇮🇹, Greece 🇬🇷, and Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦 are scheduled to sign the B4PIC charter by March 2025! 🌟An exciting day at #SustainablePlaces 2024 as #NebulaB4P led two impactful workshops: 🔄Unlocking the Renovation Wave Workshop This Nebula-led workshop showcased seven EU projects, focusing on circularity, inclusiveness, and aesthetics. Last year, in my closing remarks at the SBC GREECE (Sustainable Building Council Greece) Conference, I stressed the urgency for actions and not words. This year we move one step further. We talk about #sustainability in #education and the means to engage a larger part of society. We talk about the real value sustainability brings to the #business community and how in turn businesses can engage their stakeholders towards our common cause. As we come to the end of our latest World Green Building Week (#WGBW24), our CEO, Cristina Gamboa, reflects on the steps we need to be taking today for a better future.    This #WGBW24 we’ve been calling on the #builtenvironment community to follow a simple pathway: Reduce. Electrify. Adapt. Much of this transformation relies on technologies and solutions that already exist. And yet, we know there is still much more that needs to be done to transition to a decarbonised and resilient built environment.
