This week we led a delegation from the Waste management Industry Association of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce to experience Hong Kong's waste management and sustainability landscape.   The program began with a visit at Eco Expo Asia, a leading fair in Asia for promoting innovative green technologies incl. a meeting with Dr. CHUI Ho Kwong, the Director of Environmental Protection. We then toured several major waste management facilities in Hong Kong:   - the Green Valley Landfill - the T-Park, a state-of-the-art sludge treatment facility, where Austrian ANDRITZ boilers contribute to energy self-sufficiency - Ecopark, with a visit to New Life Plastics Ltd., showing the complex recycling process of separating clear PET from coloured plastics to produce reusable flakes and K. Wah Construction Products Ltd. (K. Wah Group), which utilizes 20% recycled materials and 20% recycled glass in its pavers with the help of Austrian RUBBLE MASTER machinery.   This showcased both the challenges in Hong Kong’s recycling sector and the potential for innovative solutions through international collaboration.   #AdvantageAustria #HongKong #Sustainability #CircularEconomy #Innovation #Austria

🌟 We finished strong as our #AUSTRIACONNECTChina2024 comes to an end. We took the iconic Peak Tram for a scenic ride up to Victoria Peak and visit to the observatory deck. Our participants could choose from 3 different guided walking tours/hikes and showed full motivation and endurance! Everyone was rewarded with beautiful views and some typical Austrian and Hong Kong hiking snacks at a picnic afterwards.
