  • "Project Pass Around" is a project that I particularly take to heart. More often than not, my day is about writing documents and building spreadsheets - mostly planning and plotting, and sometimes, I could get a bit lost as to why I do what I do. And then "Project Pass Around" comes along and reminds me the all-important why - it's about people. it's about seeing each other, and it's about doing what we can to make life a little bit easier and happier for one another. It might not be scalable. To some, it might not even be "impactful." But I know what it is. It is purposeful and meaningful, and worth doing. (and hoping keep doing we will with new support)

Before the year comes to a close, our colleagues and teams have been spreading joy and giving back to our communities. Learn more about some of the initiatives we have been involved in.   Partnering with Mandarin Oriental and Agent of Change Foundation 加減乘除基金, our volunteers teamed up at "Project PassAround" to distribute gift packs to street cleaners in the Quarry Bay and North Point districts in Hong Kong. These packs included daily essentials and our volunteers took the time to engage with each individual.     Together with Hactl - Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited and Rhys Workshop Ltd., our Jardines volunteers participated in the "Care for the Carer" outreach programme. They learnt about the process of creating adaptive trousers for the elderly, and also spent time interacting with their caregivers. The adaptive trousers will be given as Chinese New Year gifts to the elderly next year.   We are also proud sponsors of Hongkong Land Limited's HOME FUND "Christmas Tree of Hope", joining other Hongkong Land tenants and partners to adorn the Central portfolio with festive trees, all for a good cause. Proceeds of the campaign will go towards supporting the local community.   As we celebrate this holiday season, let's continue to make a positive impact on those around us. #Jardines #JardineMatheson

  • We are proud to continue our partnership with AIA albeit in a very different project - this time around helping to make Christmas sustainable both for the environment and the community. At Agent of Change Foundation, We believe in making this world a better place - to have effective and sustainable changes and progress - it takes all of us putting in efforts together. With "Sustainable Kindness: A Christmas for All", we join hands with the AIA team in sharing kindness with the world - to the people we might or might not know, to the world we live in today and our children will live in tomorrow. Together, we recycled more than 2,000 plastic bottles and built three Christmas trees that stood tall as both a reminder of our consumption footprints and a testament to our commitment to do better. On the community-front, we shared the life stories of 100 different community members so the team learnt about those real people beyond their normal social sphere and in return, shared kindness through the gifts they prepared for each of their new friends. Thank you AIA Hong Kong and Macau, Maylie Lee, Magdalena Ho and Yina Lee and the extended team for your partnership and advocacy - you are all Agents of Change! And let this be a call to all corporate leaders - your organization can be a part of the driving force of a better tomorrow - we can do this together. *Shout out to our very own Lok-chi T. and MM Ching for making this project the success that it is.

#Christmas #BelieveInBetter Merry Christmas! This Christmas, we are excited to share the successful launch of the “Sustainable Kindness: A Christmas for All” programme, in collaboration with Agent of Change Foundation 加減乘除基金! As a part of our ESG strategic initiatives, this Programme aims to celebrate the spirit of giving through sustainable practices and inclusive actions, fostering kindness and care to our diverse community.   Through the programme, remarkable two-metre-tall Christmas trees were created by upcycling some plastic bottles we collected in offices since this summer. We have also gathered a hundred of People Stories from all walks of life in our community, enabling around 200 of our colleagues to connect and give back by sharing love and gifts tailored to the needs of the story owners.      At AIA, we strive to be a force for positive change by underpinning our ESG philosophy in everything we do. Together, let’s unwrap the magic of the festive season into a celebration of responsibility and care for our community!   Maylie Lee, Magdalena Ho, Yina Lee #AIAHongKong #HealthierLongerBetterLives #CSR

  • Thank you Jardine Matheson for supporting "Project Pass Around" and we particularly like the "spreading joy and giving back" bit, because sometimes that's all we need to do! "Project Pass Around" runs on the belief that there is enough to go around as long as we share and pass around. It is our community outreach program in its third year, where through simple short walks through the community and share daily essentials open our eyes to another side of our community often neglected. If your team is interested in reacquainting your neighborhood and support the good people working on the ground, please get in touch. Kindness often costs nothing but means everything - let's choose kindness every time.

  • "If we see a problem, then we also feel obligated to be part of the solution. We didn't worry too much about whether we had the license to intervene." So excited and proud to be sharing about Agent of Change Foundation 加減乘除基金 and DESIMO Culture's latest project Project BRIDGE on ReThink HK's main stage - a project about empowering the ethnic minority community through better and more reliable flow of information, using the power of the community. Very glad our viewpoint on individual minority and collective diversity resonated with many in the audience and looking forward to building a more equitable and resilient society together. If you want to know more about Project BRIDGE and about our work, please message us! Also a big congrats to fellow project awardees: HELP for Domestic Workers, Amplify Consulting, D-Generation and Asia Pacific Youth Foundation Development - let's do this! A shout out to: Louisa Dearlove and The ReThink Foundation for supporting Project BRIDGE Catherine Tong Dannaoui for being ever-supportive and an amazing host Fredie Hung and his team at DESIMO Culture team for being on this journey with us and the crucial work they do for our ethnic minority community (follow them at https://lnkd.in/g9dW7xVf) and our very own project team Lok-chi T. and Mavis Kwok for creating magic through everyday hard work.

"Speak the truth, even if your voice shakes" I always thought of myself as a shy, quiet person, scoring extremely high on introvert traits in the MBTI assessment. Little did I expect myself to be in a role where people-meeting, speech-giving, and class-lecturing are all in a day's work. Am I still nervous about these occasions? Every time. Practice might make something perfect, but it does not take away nervousness, at least not mine. But I always remind myself to use this priviledge, to use my voice and the platform given to me, and do the responsible thing. And as I reminded a roomful of students yesterday, we all have a voice and a following - it might be a weak voice and a small following, but we have influence, and we can and should use it to make this world a better place. Thank you St. Paul's College, Hong Kong for having Agent of Change Foundation 加減乘除基金 during their activity week for a morning session around digital literacy and empathy - the energy of our younger generation is invigorating. Let's all be Agents of Change.
