Happy Lunar New Year from Jardines. May the Year of the Snake bring you joy, health and prosperity. #Jardines #JardineMatheson

Jardine Matheson reposted this
We welcomed the arrival of the Year of the Wood Snake with our annual Jardines Spring Lunch. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to come together with colleagues here in Hong Kong, acknowledge our accomplishments from the past year, and look ahead to the year to come. Wood is a symbol of growth, and when combined with the Snake's wisdom and meticulous and patient nature, it supports the idea of stability and steady transformation. At Jardines, we wholeheartedly embrace this combination of self-reflection and continued evolution. On behalf of Jardine Matheson, I extend my wishes for a joyous Lunar New Year filled with prosperity and success.

Before the year comes to a close, our colleagues and teams have been spreading joy and giving back to our communities. Learn more about some of the initiatives we have been involved in. Partnering with Mandarin Oriental and Agent of Change Foundation 加減乘除基金, our volunteers teamed up at "Project PassAround" to distribute gift packs to street cleaners in the Quarry Bay and North Point districts in Hong Kong. These packs included daily essentials and our volunteers took the time to engage with each individual. Together with Hactl - Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited and Rhys Workshop Ltd., our Jardines volunteers participated in the "Care for the Carer" outreach programme. They learnt about the process of creating adaptive trousers for the elderly, and also spent time interacting with their caregivers. The adaptive trousers will be given as Chinese New Year gifts to the elderly next year. We are also proud sponsors of Hongkong Land Limited's HOME FUND "Christmas Tree of Hope", joining other Hongkong Land tenants and partners to adorn the Central portfolio with festive trees, all for a good cause. Proceeds of the campaign will go towards supporting the local community. As we celebrate this holiday season, let's continue to make a positive impact on those around us. #Jardines #JardineMatheson

MINDSET Hong Kong | The Jardine Matheson Group Charity announced the successful conclusion of its annual fundraiser, Walk Up Jardine House, which raised HK$5 million for mental health in Hong Kong. During the Appreciation Ceremony held earlier this month, Graham Baker, Group Finance Director of Jardine Matheson and John Simpkins, Executive Director and General Counsel of Hongkong Land, presented the virtual race awards to top teams and individual racers. Sherry Wong, Board Member of MINDSET, also shared highlights and the impact MINDSET has had on the mental health community over the past two decades. The two-week virtual race saw over 750 colleagues from Jardines and business partners step up for mental health, accumulating over 5.4 million steps - equivalent to climbing Jardine House 5,700 times. Although the physical race was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, this ceremony highlighted the strong support from corporates across Hong Kong towards mental health. We thank all of our partners and sponsors for your support towards MINDSET. Check out the highlights here and join us in celebrating the impactful journey of MINDSET. #Jardines #JardineMatheson #MINDSETHongKong #MentalHealth

At Jardines, we are committed to fostering both professional and personal growth. We recently hosted an inspiring panel discussion titled “Goals, Grit and Growth: Insights from Sports to Business” featuring Camille Cheng, a three-time Olympic swimmer for Hong Kong; Alexander Li, Director and Head of Retail, Hong Kong & Macau, Hongkong Land; John Koshy, Head of Group Legal Affairs, Jardine Matheson; and Sean Ward, Deputy Group Corporate Secretary at Jardine Matheson & Group Company Secretary at Mandarin Oriental. Our panel shared diverse perspectives on achieving success in both sports and the corporate world, and also highlighted the importance of self-care and cultivating a resilient mindset for long-term success. The event saw enthusiastic participation from colleagues across the Group. #Jardines #JardineMatheson #PeopleOfJardines

In honor of our Scottish roots, Jardines recently held our annual St. Andrew's Day celebration at the iconic Noonday Gun site in Hong Kong. This tradition, which dates back to the 1830s, takes place on 30 November every year. John Witt, Group Managing Director, welcomed over 100 guests, including senior leaders across the Group and the St. Andrew’s Day Society representatives. The celebration commenced with the firing of the Noonday Gun, followed by Polly PU, Group Head of Talent, Organisational Development, IE&D at Jardine Matheson, who shared the history of this Scottish festival, and Bertie Weatherall from DFI Retail Group reciting a poem in tribute to the century-old tradition. Check out the highlights here. #Jardines #JardineMatheson #StAndrewsDay2024
