Empowering Youth Through Internships at Citybus!! ✨🚌 Citybus partnered the Kwun Tong District Office on “Youth Pi @ Kwun Tong Life Planning and Internship Programme 2024-25”. 10 secondary school students were invited to visit our Garage where they learned about the daily operations and career opportunities of Citybus.   We offered invaluable experience to two of them, allowing them to assist with crowd control in key service areas, including Fanling Station and Heung Yuen Wai Port, where they provided essential support to the customers. With the guidance of our colleagues, the students actively engaged in managing the terminus operations, assisting customers, including those with special needs. The students also participated in our 45th anniversary District Event at the Kennedy Town Belcher Bay Bus Terminus, where they distributed souvenirs to the residents and took photos with the classic “Big Eater” Bus, engaging with our customers.   Citybus is dedicated to promoting professionalism and fostering prosperous careers within the bus industry. The students’ satisfaction and excitement showed the success of our collaboration with the Government in providing valuable learning experience to the youth.   #Citybus #KTDO #Youth #YouthEmpowerment #Internship #YouthPi #KwunTong

An Enriching Day of Fun and Learning for Citybus Kids! 🚌🎉   This summer, Citybus organized an incredible【Kids Fun Day】that brought together our colleagues and their little ones for a day of adventure and discovery.   Our Learning & Development Team transformed into enthusiastic English tutors, leading the children to go on a mysterious tour of our garage and ride on our iconic open-top sightseeing bus, where the kids soaked in the vibrant sights and bustling views of Hong Kong through our engaging English-guided commentary.   After a refreshing lunch, our engineering experts captivated the children with hands-on demos of electric vehicle mechanics. The little kids then put their engineering skills to the test and assembled their own model cars!   And the fun didn’t stop there. Our Language Specialist, Stephanie, orchestrated a series of lively English games that had the kids giggling and learning all the way. The Fun Day came to an end after the kids’ collaborative effort in creating solar-powered STEM toys as their final assignment.   It was a truly rewarding experience for both our colleagues and their families. Watching the children’s faces light up with wonder and excitement was the greatest reward of all. Can’t wait for next year’s Citybus Kids Fun Day!   #CitybusKidsFunDay #EmployeeEngagement #LovingKids

Citybus Inspires Future Transport Leaders through Strive and Rise Programme   Exciting times at Citybus as we continue our journey with the Strive and Rise Programme for the second consecutive year! Today (14 August), our Chai Wan Depot buzzed with energy as we welcomed over 30 bright young minds and their mentors.   Our Deputy Head of Engineering (Admin) and programme mentor, Mr. Richard Ip, unveiled the fascinating world of hydrogen and electric buses. It was a perfect opportunity to showcase our commitment to #MissionZero and inspire the next generation of green transport enthusiasts. Students got an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of our depot facilities and gained insights into the various cogs that keep the Citybus wheel turning.   Post-tour, our People and Culture team stepped in to fuel the students' career aspirations. We walked them through our latest welfare policies and exciting job opportunities, giving these young talents a roadmap to potentially join our Citybus family in the future. The highlight? Our Training Specialist's interactive demonstration of bus maintenance skills using a door prototype. Talk about opening doors to new possibilities – the students were absolutely riveted!   At Citybus, we're not just moving people; we're moving futures. By supporting meaningful initiatives like the Strive and Rise Programme, we're investing in the bright minds that will drive Hong Kong's sustainable transport revolution.   #CitybusCares #StriveAndRise #YouthEmpowerment #SustainableTransport #CareerDevelopment

The CILT International Convention 2024 is one of the most important events in the global logistics and transportation industry, and our team was so honoured to participate in this mega event, where our Managing Director Mr. Richard Hall delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the importance of gender diversity and women empowerment in Citybus during the WiLAT (Women in Logistics and Transport) Forum.   Striving to be an inclusive employer, we shared and highlighted how Citybus accommodates the needs of females by implementing various family-friendly policies and innovative recruitment strategies to encourage more female workforce to re-join the labour market, aiming to unleash the potential and productivity of females’ talents, and thus driving greater innovation and success to the industry.   In support of our commitment to gender diversity, we have sponsored 10 female colleagues to join WiLAT this year. By facilitating their participation in WiLAT, we aim to amplify their voices, develop their leadership skills, and position them as our role models to promote greater gender diversity and inspire more female talents to join us.   We are grateful to have been a part of this year’s event, where we could share our experiences and exchange ideas with industry partners from around the world. It was incredibly inspiring to connect with members who share our passion for creating a more equitable and inclusive future for the logistics and transportation sector.   #Citybus #CILTInternationalConvention2024 #WiLAT

Hydrogen Bus Developed by Citybus Navigates Through the Tunnels in Landmark Achievement   Citybus successfully deployed Hong Kong's first hydrogen vehicle to pass through the road tunnels on 14 Jul, a landmark event in the city's hydrogen development. This historic occasion was supported by the presence of key government officials, legislative council members, and many dedicated supporters of public transport and Citybus, who had the privilege of being the first passengers to travel through the road tunnels on a hydrogen vehicle.   Some people focus on what cannot be done, however, we at Citybus focus on what can be achieved. By navigating through road tunnels, we are now extremely proud to bring our customers in the New Territories and Hong Kong Island a new hydrogen bus experience.   Citybus and our shareholders Templewater and Hans Energy worked vigorously with various government departments over the past three years, having taken the challenging yet correct path for the future zero-emission transformation of Hong Kong. With a well-defined roadmap and regulatory framework in place, supported by relevant hydrogen funding and subsidies, we strongly believe that Hong Kong’s hydrogen economy can be developed at a rapid pace, with Hong Kong becoming a leading new energy technology hub globally, bringing economic success and good fortune.   The future for hydrogen development and in particular Hong Kong as a research, technology and zero emission hub presents so many opportunities!
