We are delighted to share the success of our recent "Food Donation" campaign at Kerry Properties! Held at Kerry Centre, our colleagues enthusiastically came together to swap food items. All unopened food were donated to St. James' Settlement, and the proceeds went to Hong Chi Association. It was heartwarming to witness our team enjoying good food while extending their generosity to those in need. We recently held two successful "Happy Maid, Happy Family" ESG events organized by our ESG Think Tank and staff volunteers at Kerry Properties in May and June. Nearly 60 foreign domestic helpers of our colleagues joined us for these joyful weekend sessions, where they created clothes and accessories for teddy bears using excess clothing donated by our colleagues. The workshops, featuring an ESG talk, were arranged to raise awareness and equip the helpers with environmental knowledge while encourage sustainable practices. The sessions also expressed our deep gratitude for their invaluable contributions and fostered a sense of belonging to the community among them. We hope this initiative marks a significant step towards creating a more inclusive community. In our ongoing efforts to empower our community and promote environmental sustainability, we co-hosted the "Upcycled Kalimbas Workshop" with HK Timberbank. This innovative initiative saw our dedicated volunteers repurpose recycled Acacia Confusa wood, collected from Tsing Yi, into beautiful crafted Kalimbas. These handcrafted musical instruments were then gifted to 15 underprivileged children, providing them with a unique music experience through a free music class. This endeavor beautifully blended our sustainability efforts with our passion for fostering learning and creativity. In the architectural realm, our commitment to outstanding design was awarded at the Build4Asia Award 2024. Our Mont Verra project in Hong Kong received the Gold Award for Outstanding Architecture in the Residential category, while our Fuzhou Rivercity project in the Mainland was awarded a Merit Award for Outstanding Architecture for Projects Outside of Hong Kong. Our business excellence has also been recognised, as we were named among the Top 10 Chinese Real Estate Enterprises (Non-Mainland) 2024 by the Guandian Index Academy. At Kerry Properties, every day is Earth Day! A dedicated group of our colleagues recently took part in the Recycling Education and Plastic Sorting Workshop, a CSR event we organised in collaboration with V Cycle. The workshop provided insights into waste management and recycling best practices, and offered an opportunity for us to work alongside the elder, former cardboard collectors. The initiative not only goes beyond environmental protection but also fosters a safer and more supportive working environment for them. Our colleagues were profoundly moved by the experience, which not only prompted them to think twice before generating waste in their daily lives but also transformed their mindset. This visit led them to reevaluate their recycling habits and raised their awareness about waste sorting. The Mega Ice Hockey 5's tournament, proudly presented by Kerry Properties, officially commences! The event represents the largest and most competitive ice hockey tournament in Asia, gathering over 100 teams from 10 different countries and cities from April 20 to May 4, 2024. Beyond promoting intense competition and camaraderie, Mega Ice will donate a skating coupon to children served by three designated NGOs for every goal scored during the tournament through the “One Goal One Coupon” charitable programme. We are thrilled to recount the accomplishments from our recent Beach Cleanup Day, a collaborative effort with Friends of the Earth Hong Kong. Our dedicated team, comprising over 40 participants, took to the shores and collectively gathered 26.8 kilograms of marine debris, predominantly composed of plastics and disposable items. In our pursuit of a cleaner environment, we sorted and recycled 2 kilograms of waste, highlighting the paramount importance of waste reduction at the source. This hands-on experience served as a potent reminder of our shared responsibility to protect our natural habitats.
