About us

Phoenix Property Investors (“Phoenix”) is a privately owned and managed private equity real estate investment group with a fully integrated real estate investment, project and asset management platform in Asia. Phoenix was founded in 2002 by Samuel W. T. Chu and Benjamin K. Y. Lee. Phoenix endeavors to seize value-oriented opportunities in developed Pan-Asian markets, including Japan, Australia, Korea and Hong Kong. We focus on three strategies: opportunistic, core plus/value-add, and secured debt. We have formalized fund-series as well as side-cars and separate accounts. We believe that central to our success is the quality and experience of our in-house teams with broad expertise in acquisitions, divestments, property development and redevelopment, project management, asset management, property promoting, leasing, architectural design, surveying, and land utilization. Today, our team of professionals manage assets on behalf of some of the world's most sophisticated institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, endowments/foundations, financial institutions, family offices, and high net-worth individuals. Phoenix now boasts more than 150+ employees and we have seven offices located in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Sydney, Shanghai, Taipei, and Singapore. Since its inception, Phoenix has managed over US$14.5 billion of gross real estate assets in the residential, retail, office, hotels, and industrial sectors across 15 Asian cities. The US$14.5 billion consists of US$7.9 billion of current assets under management and US$6.5 billion of gross real estate assets sold or realized, as applicable.

The "O'South Coastal Run 2024" came back again this year! Mayer Brown is a Sponsor of the charity run which was co-hosted by our client Phoenix Property Investors’ (PPI). Our Real Estate partner Jasmine Y K Chiu, along other esteemed guests, had the honour of officiating the opening ceremony and presenting a donation cheque to Mr. Samuel Chu, co-founder, managing partner and chief investment officer of PPI, on behalf of the firm.   The race started at the waterfront promenade near Monterey Place in O'South Coast, with the route taking runners through sections of the Tseung Kwan O waterfront promenade and the Cross Bay Bridge, offering them a stunning view of the beautiful seascape.   The event organisers donated part of the race registration fees to the RunOurCity Foundation, Hong Kong Sports Federation for the Blind, and the Running in the Dark, in order to support the running culture in Hong Kong.   Congratulations to PPI for organising another successful and impactful event.   #RealEstate #OSouthCoast #OSCR2024 #HongKong
