John Lewis has established a Hong Kong-based sourcing team to maximise commercial opportunities in the Far East. We work in close collaboration with UK Trading teams and local suppliers in order to drive sales and profit, through optimum stock availability, improved margin and price.


We aim to build long-term relationships with the supply base to develop innovative products that meet the John Lewis and Waitrose brand quality and value requirements.


About the role

Role type: Permanent, full time

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:30


As Human Resources Assistant, you will manage a full spectrum of human resources functions to the Human Resources team and Hong Kong Sourcing Office. Duties include but not limited to taking care of administration duties and ensuring the daily operations of the HK and Asia HR team run smoothly.


Main Role Responsibilities


Recruitment and onboarding

  • Responsible for end to end recruitment processes, evaluate and identify effective recruitment channels to search and recruit right candidates
  • Screening CVs and using different tools to search and approach right talents for job vacancies
  • Work with line managers to confirm recruitment process
  • Arrangement interviews and conduct phone/face-to-face interviews when necessary, support and provide advice to line managers on job offers and recruitment decisions
  • Take care of new partners onboarding


Training and development

  • In charge and take care of different kinds of HR initiatives and programs
  • Liaise with wellbeing committee and external consultant on wellbeing program
  • Coordinate and support HR training activities for new partner orientation, performance management training, any other training as required, etc.
  • Conduct HR induction, HR orientation, learning pop quiz and learning activities to partners


Compensation and Benefits

  • Support Compensation & Benefits functions including providing monthly movement to service provider & Finance team for payroll process, Employer Return filing & distribution to partners, MPF administration
  • Provide leave balance and payroll information to service provider for preparing final payments
  • Responsible for the data migration, configuration and implementation of the new HR system
  • Support Pay review and annual bonus administration, including letter issuing & distribution, HR filing to Partners’ personnel files.
  • Support benefits review administration
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned
  • Provide administrative support to teams when necessary


Skills and Experience


Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources Management or Business related disciplines
  • A minimum of 1 year’ relevant work experience
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin


Desirable

  • Experience with a similar type of retailer or sourcing office
