🌲Today, on International Day of Forests, we're happy to introduce Lumber Guardian - a solution developed by our #Innovation department in the fight against illegal logging activities. 🪚🪵🌳 Sadly, Croatia and Romania are among the top EU countries struggling with the challenges of illegal logging but with the help of various innovations, such as Lumber Guardian, we're able to put an end to it. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤? Leveraging the cutting-edge I2S #Zephyr microphone implementation, our team delved into the world of machine learning and deployed an algorithm that can detect the sounds of chainsaws in the heart of the forest. Powered by a Cortex M7 #microcontroller and featuring solar cells for sustainability, this battery-operated device is a marvel of modern #technology. With four sensitive microphones and a #LoRaWAN transceiver, it's designed to be both effective and eco-friendly. Once a chainsaw sound is detected, Lumber Guardian gets into action. It sends an immediate message via LoRaWAN to the cloud server, alerting authorities to the illegal logging activity. It's a real-time solution for a real-world problem. ✅ We're also using this hardware to explore advanced sound source localization algorithms, including XCORR, GCC-PHAT, and BMPH algorithms. By pushing the boundaries of technology, we're not just protecting our forests - we're revolutionizing the way we safeguard them for generations to come.🌳 We're also excited to announce presenting the demo version of the project at STMicroelectronics' booth during embedded world Exhibition&Conference as this project is based on their STM32H7 microcontroller. Come and check this solution at #EW24! #InternationalDayofForests #LumberGuardian #Innovation #bytelab

Ever noticed how some products just feel right when you use them? That's no accident - it's all about great UI design. Lately our SW Engineer Patrik has been exploring TouchGFX from STMicroelectronics and wrote what it brings to embedded systems. If you're building anything from smart home gadgets to industrial equipment, this framework is a game-changer. First off, it's very efficient - perfect for when you're working with limited resources but still want those smooth graphics. Plus, you can really make it your own with custom widgets and themes that match your brand's personality. The best part? It's actually enjoyable to work with. The integrated tools make the whole process - from design to testing - feel seamless. 💡 Swipe left to see how to use this framework effectively, explore its capabilities, integrations, limitations but also comparison with LVGL - open source embedded graphics library. ⏬ #STPartnerProgram #STAuthorizedPartner

What a great way to start off 2025! 🚀 We're at CES 2025 together with our partners from Blues showcasing our newest device - Earie. 👂🏻 Earie is a device that helps people track and contribute to the control of noise pollution in urban areas. Designed to be easily installed on any window, this modern device features a highly sensitive microphone that captures a wide range of sound frequencies. The Blues Notecard module helped speed up the development. In operation, it provides reliable communication while using little power, which gives Earie a longer battery life - making it ideal for long-term urban noise monitoring. This data helps cities become quieter and healthier, while teaching people about the impact of urban noise. If you're visiting CES, lets connect and discuss the future! 💫 #CES2025 #ByteLab #CES
On CES in Las Vegas I’m most excited about expending Byte Lab's partnership with Blues and leveraging our expertise in their hardware and modul development. Collaborating with Blues was transformative for Earie’s development. We look forward to work on Edge AI applications and advancing innovative solutions like Earie to address real world challenges in sustainability and connectivity. Urban noise pollution significantly impacts human health and quality of life. Earie addresses the issue by providing a precise realtime monitoring solution that empowers citizens and authorities to identify noise hotspots, sources and types. This data enables informed actions, contributing to quieter, healthier, and more sustainable urban environments. Together we look forward to tackle even more ambitious projects in the future. Of course with blues vibes 🎶 😎 Matija Puskar Paddy Gogin Danijel Babic Ivan Dodig #ces2025 #lasvegas #success #connectivity #health #sustainability #lifequality

🎄 Have a holly jolly Christmas… party! Last Friday, we came together for our annual Christmas party, where we brought the merry spirit, shared some laughs, and tested our brains in the first ever Byte Lab Pub Quiz. (competitive spirits were almost as high as the holiday ones 🧠🍻) Besides dancin' and prancin' afterwards, we also celebrated our teammates with the Byte Lab Dragon Award for being with us for 3, 5, or 10 years. The loud cheers showed just how much we value them.💫 Here's to good times, great colleagues, and an even better 2025 ahead! 🥂 #ByteLab #teamspirit
