With over 200 participants – from business angels 🪽 to early-stage VCs and startup ecosystem leaders – this year’s summit was truly dynamic. It’s been an honor working alongside such an inspirational leader as Dajana Dzindo, who is tirelessly supporting the growth of our ecosystem for a decade. This event has become a *must-visit* in our region, proven by the participation of so many investors, institutions, and organizations, including the, Western Balkan Startup Alliance, Swiss EP - Swiss Entrepreneurship Program featured outstanding speakers, including Maria Carolina Romero, Maaike Doyer, Peter Bruner🚪📲, and numerous venture capital representatives. The incredible turnout of over 200 investors and nine inspiring startup founders - Sanja Gardasevic (ZUNO Games), Lemana Spahić (TrueAID), Vukasin Bozovic (Getafeel), Jasmina Isaković (EMHANCE™), Adna Salković (Bhealth), Slavko Kovačević (DeepMark), Gjorgjina Ristovska (DIA), Nevio Buric (Daidream - Mello) and Ivica Đorđević (Colsia) showcased the limitless potential of Western Balkans! More than an event, this year’s Summit served as a powerful statement: our region is rich with talent, resilience, and ambition. Bosnia and Herzegovina, along with its neighbouring countries, belongs on the global innovation stage. Period. 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗶 𝗸𝗼𝗻𝗸𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝘀ä𝘁𝘇𝗲, 𝘄𝗶𝗲 𝗱𝘂 𝗞𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗸𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘀𝘁: 𝟭. 🌍 Last week, at Lauba in Zagreb, we witnessed the presentation of WWF’s Planet Report 2024, shining a light on the alarming state of our planet. The report revealed a shocking 73% decline in wildlife populations over just 50 years, an urgent wake-up call. Two panel discussions followed, where representatives from institutions and the corporate sector addressed the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss. Key takeaways? We must design solutions with global thinking, leverage sustainable tourism, simplify environmental legislation, and amplify media’s role in educating the public. This is no longer a distant problem. It’s happening NOW.
