Empowering Albanian Municipalities for a Brighter Future! 🤝 This week, Tirana hosted a vibrant two-day workshop on Project Cycle Management (PCM), uniting municipal representatives from across Albania under the #EU4Good Governance project. The mission? Strengthening local capacity to design impactful, EU-aligned projects that meet real community needs.   Key Highlights: 📋 Mastering PCM tools like Logical Frameworks and SMART budgeting. 💡 Developing innovative project ideas, such as: 🌲 Revitalizing National Park Jalovec for diverse tourism experiences. ⛰️ Enhancing mountain tourism infrastructure and local guide training. 🌾 Supporting eco-agriculture with lavender production. 🔧 Reskilling the workforce for new economic opportunities. 🏛️ Revitalizing cultural heritage to fuel sustainable tourism growth.   Discussions also focused on Albania’s #EU integration journey and the vital role of municipalities in fostering inclusive growth.   A huge thank you to all participants, facilitators, and partners for your creativity and dedication. Insightful, inspiring, and impactful 🚀 — that’s how we’d sum up the first ever Technical Regional Forum held in Zagreb and Novska! 🙌✨   From strategic insights on implementing #JustTransition fund in Croatia (thanks to Ministry for Regional Development and #EU Funds and European Commission) to global best practices from the Katowice City - live, work & invest Gaming Hub and #JueValley robotics, and local innovators like Drone in Petrinja, AI Center Lipik, the Regional Development Agency SIMORA, and PISMO powered by A1 Center for Gaming Industry  - the event was a powerhouse of ideas. 🌍🤖✈️   The highlight? Hearing fresh, creative ideas from elementary school students in Grad Kutina, Novska, and Grad Sisak. Proud to share our latest achievements in the "COMMHERITOUR" project, where Ecorys Croatia, together with LAG Središnja Istra is helping to revive and promote the rich intangible heritage of Central Istria under the Interreg Danube Region program 2021-2027. Focusing on traditional crafts -beekeeping, stonemasonry, and the Pazin Cukerančić (an example of Croatia's protected intangible heritage), the project highlights how cultural heritage can drive sustainable local growth. Through four workshops with local stakeholders and comprehensive ethnographic research by the Ethnographic Museum of Istria, we identified opportunities for sustainably integrating traditional crafts into tourism offerings. We also explored new employment initiatives targeted at youth, including the Central Istria Stonemasonry school. The workshops were held in authentic Central Istrian locations, where hosts shared local products and traditions, including wool spinning and honey-wine pairings. Thanks to our partners, LAG Središnja Istra and the Ethnographic Museum of Istria, and all the participants for their engagement and contributions!
