What a memorable and eventful week in London, where Francois de Maricourt and I got to promote Indonesia and its massive investment opportunities to our UK-based corporates and colleagues.
Apart from various bilateral meetings with our clients and business enablers, we organized three major events by partnering the Embassy of Indonesia in London, Ministry of Investment / Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) along with Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre (IIPC) London, BritCham Indonesia, UK-ASEAN Business Council (UKABC), and our superb HSBC UK colleagues.
⭐️ Business Forum titled "Nusantara Baru, Indonesia Maju: Golden Investment, Growth Opportunities" - a full house event that Pak Desra Percaya hosted at the iconic Embassy office. Three keynote speeches delivered by Pak Desra, Francois, and Chris Wren underscored Indonesia's positive momentum and its focus on FDI in order to achieve the aspired GDP growth rate. With 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, UK can play a bigger role towards Indonesia's Golden and Transformation era. A privilege for me to also join a panel discussion with Siti Tiefryani Fahlyah and Chris in addressing key areas of interest such as downstreaming industries, investment landscape, sectoral view, and HSBC support towards the country's FDI agenda. This event concluded with a lively networking session. Thank you Steven Marcelino for moderating the panel session and Cora McLaren for representing HSBC UK in this event!
⭐️ Thailand & Indonesia Business Briefing, jointly organized by UKABC, BritCham, HSBC, and Board of Investment. We are proud to host this event in HSBC Canary Wharf office. The ASEAN's two largest markets attract significant investment opportunities and will play major role in the regional integration. Thank you to all the presenters; special shout out to Ian Gibbons and Stephanie Betant for delivering powerful remarks. HSBC and BritCham partnership is strategic and deep-rooted. I am proud to serve as a Board Member in BritCham Indonesia.
⭐️ An Indonesia Townhall featuring Head of IIPC London and Francois. Thank you Matt Osborne for hosting and moderating this session, well-attended by more than 120 bankers. I was particularly impressed with the level of support and enthusiasm extended by our superb UK team.
