Our Partner, Vera Noviani Harwanto, collaborated on a paper with Bird & Bird titled "Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) Southeast Asian Requirements as of August 2024," in partnership with Azmi & Associates. Vera, along with her associates Monika Saraswati and Maria Johanna Angela, provided an in-depth analysis of FDI requirements in Southeast Asian countries, including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia. The paper outlines the regulations, restrictions, procedures, and the impact of recent global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine war on FDI. In the context of Indonesia, Vera detailed the implementation of FDI, covering aspects such as business establishment, partnerships with local companies or micro, small, and medium enterprises, and sectors with maximum foreign ownership limits, particularly following the enactment of the Job Creation Law.
