    Bukalapak is excited to bring back the "Perempuan Jadi Pengusaha" (Creating Female Entrepreneurs) program, dedicated to empowering females and female-led MSMEs in Indonesia by providing them with business skills and knowledge. This year, we’re partnering with BakingWorld.id, Indonesia’s first online baking and pastry training platform, to help these entrepreneurs sharpen their skills in culinary business. In line with National Finance Day, we’re doubling our commitment to driving inclusive and sustainable economic growth through women’s empowerment and innovation. With over 900 passionate participants, this hybrid event features professional chefs from Baking World who teach hands-on culinary techniques using budget-friendly ingredients and equipments in a real-life working kitchen.     The game industry, which grows rapidly by time, is expected to become a massive player that drives business and economic growth in the world. Looking at the growth, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemenkominfo) has launched Indonesia Game Developer Exchange (IGDX) Business & Conference to act as a catalyst for the development of the industry players, which was held at  The Stones Bali, on 10th - 12th October 2024. Bukalapak was granted the opportunity to participate in the IGDX through the entity of our 2 gaming business arms, Itemku and Lapakgaming, to provide in-depth experience on our services to all attendees. During the event, we had an honor to welcome Hokky Situngkir, Direktur Jenderal Aplikasi Informatika (Kemenkominfo’s General Director of Information Applications) and Dr. Ir. Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto, M.T. Direktur Ekonomi Digital (Kemenkominfo’s General Director of Digital Economy), who paid a quick visit to our booth and granted us the opportunity to talk about our commitment for the gaming industry in Indonesia, which we really appreciate. Bukalapak’s gaming team also actively participated in 15 business matchmaking sessions, where we explored potential business opportunities and network with both local and international players.     Reinforcing the objective of empowering micro businesses throughout the country, Mitra Bukalapak created ‘Komunitas Juwara (Juragan Warung Mitra Bukalapak)’, a community comprising hundreds of thousands big kiosk owners and phone credit agents, with the aim to educate the members about digital, financial, and business literacy. With this commitment in mind, Mitra Bukalapak held an offline gathering for Juwara Community named Spesial Kumpul Juwara (SKJ) in Solo & Yogyakarta, attended by more than 200 Juwara members. This SKJ event gives opportunities for the members to share their experience & best practices on running their business with fellow kiosk owners & mom pops stores, as well as educating them on new virtual products & financial services. This time, Mitra Bukalapak partnered with Kantor Perwakilan Bank Indonesia DIY to educate the business owners on the benefits of using QRIS as a digital payment system, business development, and also a special campaign named ‘Cinta, Bangga, Paham Rupiah’ or ‘Being Fond, Understanding, and Proud of Rupiah’. Implementing QRIS in every Mitra Bukalapak kiosk is our form of support towards the government’s commitment to promote digital and financial inclusion through Bank Indonesia. SKJ also had an inspirational segment named ‘Juwara Bercerita’, where we feature Ibu Ninik from Solo and Ibu Irma from Yogyakarta, our local champion kiosk owners who shared inspiring stories about their kiosk transformation since joining Mitra Bukalapak in order to inspire fellow Mitra Bukalapak members to follow in their footsteps. To maintain Mitra Bukalapak’s initiatives in driving growth among MSMEs in Indonesia, we are implementing SKJ as a routine and has successfully organized the gathering in other cities such as Malang, Sidoarjo, Medan, Pekanbaru, Karawang, and Bekasi in 2024. We also have our plan ready to bring SKJ to Bandung, Makassar, and Jakarta this year.     In celebration of Batik Day on October 2nd, we invited our squads to wear their finest batik to the office.     Last week, we held a two-day training session, Think Agility, designed specifically for our senior squad members. During the training, our squad delved into the various facets of agility—learning agility, result agility, change agility, mental agility, and self-awareness. Through engaging business simulations, they were challenged to shift their mindset from a support function to a true business partnership, aligning with the company’s core objectives.     Bukalapak just hosted another Cermat Hemat session, a specialized training program for MSMEs focused on implementing sustainable practices and equipping them with the knowledge to produce environmentally-friendly products. In light of World Water Week, this year's Cermat Hemat workshop titled “Exploring Organic Soap Business Ideas”, provided a practical training on making organic soap, which uses natural ingredients that break down easily, reducing pollution and contamination from soap residue. Not only promoting a green lifestyle among MSMEs, the training was designed to also provide them with an opportunity to gain additional income from selling high-demand products. Our Mitras attended the event alongside representatives from Bukalapak’s team. The event was inaugurated by virtual remarks from Yenny Wahid, Bukalapak’s ESG Ambassador; and Arlyana Abu Bakar, Executive Director of DKI Jakarta Province Bank Indonesia Representative Office, who expressed appreciation to Bukalapak for organizing this event, as it can encourage MSMEs to work together in contributing to achieving and accelerating one of the Sustainable Development Goals, which is ensuring access to clean water and sanitation.
