🔔 Project progress update! 🔔       121 small-scale shrimp fishers in South Kalimantan, Indonesia, and 130 in Central Java have been empowered through smartphone technology 👏       Our Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance project partner, Sahabat Laut Lestari (SLL Fisheries), has developed the Perahu App, which enables small-scale fishers and local suppliers to log daily fish catches and transactions.  By tracking these operations, the app creates a financial record that fishers can use to apply for bank loans and government grants.    The daily catch recorded also contributes to fish stock assessments – which supports effective fisheries management. 🐠         As part of the Ocean Resilience Innovation Challenge (#ORIC), SLL Fisheries received mentoring and training over 18 months, along with a contribution of USD $50,000 to help develop their innovative solution.
