The 30% Club is a collaboration of board Chairs and CEO's of medium and large organisations, committed to achieving better gender balance at leadership levels, for better business outcomes. Founded in the UK in 2010, the 30% Club operates in geographical chapters across the world with a specific focus on boards and c-suite teams.
The 30% Club was established in Ireland in 2015 with the support of notable senior leaders and since February 2019 we are also very proud to count Mary McAleese and Martin McAleese as our joint patrons. Our membership now totals more than 260 Chairs & CEO’s of organisations representing the full breadth of Irish business and education. The daily workings of the group are managed by a volunteer panel representing a cross section of those organisations and we operate on a collaborative basis to generate support and drive change.
The 30% Club believes that gender balance on boards and executive leadership not only encourages better leadership and governance, but further contributes to better all-round board performance, and ultimately increased corporate performance for companies, employees, stakeholders and the wider communities.
The purpose of the 30% Club is to be useful to businesses in achieving their culture and inclusion ambitions, with a specific focus on senior gender balance; and focuses on raising awareness of the business benefits of gender balance; supporting businesses in their efforts to achieve balance; and working to improve the gender talent pipeline through mentoring programmes, business scholarships, board readiness and leadership development initiatives.
