At Diageo Ireland, we are proud to have been part of the Dublin 8 community for over 250 years. Giving back to the community within which we operate has always been a cornerstone of our business and we’re glad to be continuing that legacy to this day.   In keeping with that legacy, we are delighted to be offering free access to the swimming pool at St. James’s Gate Health and Fitness Club on Watling Street, to more than 600 children from the Dublin 8 community during the summer months of July and August!  We have been working closely with our local community partners South Inner City Community Development Association (SICCDA) and South West Inner City Network (SWICN), who have kindly been disseminating the free passes, including 200 free membership passes for one adult and two children to use at the pool during the summer months, as well as access to the pool for community group summer camps, with qualified lifeguards on hand for their sessions.   We understand the importance of swimming for health, well-being, and enjoyment, especially for children and young people, and we are committed to making the swimming pool more accessible to local families, through these important local partnerships.  We hope this will encourage more families and friend groups to spend quality time together, and to enjoy the benefits of swimming as a leisure activity!   Pictured below at St. James’s Gate Health and Fitness Club Swimming Pool to present the passes were (L-R) Liz Duffy from South Inner City Community Development Association (SICCDA), Katie Lyons from South West Inner City Network (SWICN) and JILL MCCANN, Community Engagement Manager, Diageo Ireland.   #SummerSwimming #DiageoIreland #StJames’sGate #Community

We were excited to recently launch the 2024 Diageo Baileys Champion Cow Competition, which will take place at the Virginia Show in Co. Cavan on 21st August 2024!     At the Baileys offices in Dublin earlier this month, Diageo Ireland's Corporate Relations Director, Shane Kelly, Tirlán's Chief Ingredients Officer, Aoife Murphy and Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue T.D., came together to officially launch this renowned competition, that garners applicants from all corners of Ireland.     The Diageo Baileys Champion Cow Competition is an annual spotlight on dairy farmers and the hard work and dedication they put into the breeding excellence of their herds - it’s also an acknowledgement on a national scale, of the ongoing innovation put into farming by families across the country.     As a certified B-Corp, Baileys is driven by innovation, like our recent trial of more sustainable packaging methods, we’re dedicated to evolving, while also protecting the history and quality we’re known for.     Speaking at the launch, Minister Charlie McConalogue T.D., congratulated Diageo and Tirlán on a long-standing supply-chain relationship, centered on Baileys ‘hero’ raw ingredient, Irish dairy cream.    Minister McConalogue said, “I am delighted to formally launch the Diageo Baileys Cow Competition for 2024. I want to thank Diageo and Tirlán for continuing to promote and celebrate the grass-fed dairy sector in this manner for half a century and wish all participants the very best ahead of the final judging at the Virginia Show in August.’’    To mark the occasion, we welcomed dairy cow, Red Rose to the Baileys offices to officially launch this esteemed competition - check out the below video from the day!    #DairyFarming #Baileys #Tirlán #ChampionCowCompetition #VirginiaShow2024

We are thrilled that our Legal Director, Gemma Neylon, has been included in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist of the most influential in-house lawyers in Ireland. The GC Powerlist is compiled following a comprehensive research process, conducted over many months with law firm partners and in-house counsel across Ireland.   It identifies the most impressive in-house lawyers in the country, those who have utilised their legal knowledge strategically to provide business insights, contribute to their company’s success and ensure that the legal function is driving the business forward.   Many congratulations to Gemma for this much deserved recognition! Today’s Drinks Ireland - Ibec report confirms that, in line with growth seen across Europe, the non-alcohol beer category continues to thrive in Ireland, which is a trend that Diageo has been seeing for some time, particularly through Guinness 0.0.   Between February 2023 and February 2024, we saw an almost 50% increase in volume sales of Guinness 0.0 on draught, confirming the major growth of non-alcohol beer in recent years, and the specific success of Guinness 0.0 since its introduction to the Irish market almost three years ago. We are meeting this increased demand by sustained investment, including a €25 million production facility for Guinness 0.0 at St James’s Gate in Dublin, last year.   As consumer habits evolve and people seek to moderate their alcohol consumption, they are turning to brands they know and trust to offer non-alcohol alternatives that still deliver the quality and taste they’ve come to expect from brands like Guinness.   We’re excited to see the non-alcohol beer category go from strength to strength and are glad to be playing a part in that, through our continued commitment and substantial investment in our products. #Guinness00 #NonAlcohol #SalesGrowth #ConsumerHabits https://lnkd.in/e2mnB7yu

We have turned the sod on Ireland’s first carbon-neutral brewery at Littleconnell, Newbridge, Co Kildare! After announcing our plans in 2022, we’re glad to have begun construction on our new €200m state-of-the-art brewery, that will brew our lagers and ales including Rockshore, Harp, Hop House 13, Smithwick’s, Kilkenny and Carlsberg, facilitating enhanced capacity for the production of the fast-growing Guinness 0.0 at the traditional home of Guinness at St James’s Gate, Dublin. With a capacity of 2 million hectolitres, it will be the second largest brewing operation in Ireland outside of St James's Gate, and will go on to support the growth of overall beer exports from Ireland. All this would not be possible without our stakeholders throughout the process; Enterprise Ireland, Kildare County Council and Minister of State for Agriculture and TD for Kildare South, Martin Heydon. We look forward to many more future collaborations with our stakeholders, on impactful and exciting projects like this one!   #CarbonNeutral #Guinness #Brewery #Kildare #DiageoIreland
