Thank you to Ellie Donnelly for the recent chat at AirNav Ireland
Reflecting on my journey in air traffic safety, I am continually reminded of the passion that has driven me since I began my career as a student air traffic controller in 1998. My commitment to aviation safety has always been paramount, ensuring that every flight has a safe and efficient route though our airspace adhering to the highest standards for the crew, passengers, and individuals on the ground.
Current discussions surrounding the passenger cap at Dublin Airport are critically important and I hope will be resolved soon; broader discussions on the necessity for a unified European airspace are also critical. Enhanced connectivity is essential for our economy and the sustainable future of aviation.
Despite challenges such as Covid and the huge rebound in traffic that immediately followed it I have successfully ensured that AirNav Ireland continues to be financially sustainable retuning profits and dividends while mainlining the highest safety standards and delivering an efficient environmentally sustainable service to our customers. In this regard I am extremely grateful to the Airnav Ireland team I remain incredibly encouraged by their dedication and commitment to our mission and the promising outlook for the industry.
I take pride in AirNav Ireland's efforts to train a new generation of air traffic controllers, radio officers and engineers which reinforces our reputation for excellence. Let us continue to prioritise safety, advocate for essential changes, and inspire the next generation of aviation professionals. I have worked hard to encourage my brilliant female colleagues to become ambassadors for our industry including establishing a mentoring programme for future female leaders.
Together, we can shape the future of this remarkable industry.
