  • 📊 2.3K fewer flights week-on-week on Mon 10.03, with Week 11 finishing on 26,124 daily flights ✈️, ▼1% vs Week 10. 👉 That reflected a full-day strike across most major German airports, with 2,424 fewer flights in Germany that day contributing strongly to that cross-network drop of 2,287 flights. Over the week, that pushed down 🇩🇪 top 10 daily averages: ▼11% Lufthansa (4th busiest airline with 954 daily ✈️) ▼12% Frankfurt (6th busiest airport with 1,018 daily ✈️) ▼9% Munich (9th busiest airport with 732 daily ✈️) ▼8% Germany (3rd busiest State with 3,973 daily ✈️). Overall, daily traffic dipped week-on-week in ↘️ 8/10 #airlines/airline groups (but ↗️ in 8/10 year-on-year) ↘️ 8/10 #airports week-on-week (but ↗️ in 7/10 year-on-year) ↘️ 7/10 States week-on-week (but ↗️ in 9/10 year-on-year). Other key data: 📌 After last week's 🏁 photo finish at the top, Istanbul Airport went back into first with 1,300 daily ✈️, marginally more than in W10, pulling ahead of Amsterdam Schiphol on 1,292, with London Heathrow on 1,268 (▼0% & ▼2% respectively). 📌 The 3 busiest airline groups were all down (Ryanair 2,692 daily ✈️ & ▼0%; easyJet 1,454 daily ✈️ & ▼1%; Turkish Airlines 1,306 daily ✈️ & ▼1%). 📌 And alongside Germany, the busiest & 2nd busiest States also saw less traffic, with the UK 🇬🇧 handling 5,026 daily ✈️ (▼0%) & Spain down ▼1% on 4,497 daily ✈️. 📌 The busiest intra-European flow stood at 20,004 daily ✈️, like the global total, down ▼1%. 📌 However, larger week-on-week decreases were observed to ◁▷ 3rd largest flow North Africa with 1,119 ✈️ (▼6%) ◁▷ 8th largest flow South America with 196 daily ✈️ (▼4%). ⏰ arrival punctuality was steady at 85%. 📊 For more unique aviation data in your pocket, 24/7, 👉 check out our EUROCONTROL DATA app on Apple/Google Play.

  • ✈️ This week's big event: the ✈️ EUROCONTROL Flight Dispatcher Days ✈️ to discuss how we can best collaborate to #thinkNetwork 🧠✈️ as ops actors prepare for ⬆️5% air traffic this summer vs 2024. 🔑 A key message: every local decision taken can potentially have a significant impact on the air traffic network as a whole. Over the 3 days, our EUROCONTROL Network Manager (#NM) experts will be sharing updates on some of the most essential tools for aircraft operators, such as NMP flight, as well as doing demos on EUROCONTROL tools and services such as: 📊 FATHOM – our interactive analysis tool sharing operational performance data to improve efficiency and sustainability 💻 MIRROR – our innovative flight visualisation tool that helps ops stakeholders predict & mitigate delays ✈️ NM rerouting tools including the Group Rerouting Tool 🔎 Airport tools such as #AirportCorner. The #FlightDispatcherDays are supported by Airlines 4 Europe, IFALDA, EUFALDA, IATA and European Regions Airline Association. They include: 📌 contributions from aircraft operators, sharing best practices via practical demos & discussions 📌 insight from air navigation service providers (#ANSPs) on how they are supporting aircraft operators, in particular with regards to flight plan adherence. ✨The Flight Dispatcher Days will also take a look at the implementation of FF-ICE, with particular attention on the challenges and solutions associated with the new flight plan format.
