Our colleague Enda Walsh, manager of the IAA's UAS division speaking at the launch of the Dublin Drone Innovation Partnership, with Dublin City Council, Maynooth University and Lero. He believes the partnership will deliver crucial insights for safely integrating UAS into urban environments while maximising benefits to society, and laying the foundation for developing UAS Traffic Management (UTM) for the State. “The Drone Innovation Partnership project will look at stakeholder concerns and provide crucial information and analysis of the key aspects around security, environment, and privacy for UAS integration into urban environments. It will also support the future establishment of a comprehensive and effective UTM infrastructure for the State, which provides a safe environment for all air traffic while facilitating a growing UAS industry.” #drones

Today, I wrapped up TY week at the IAA with some of the most intelligent and inspiring 14/15 year olds I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. It was a true joy to have them in the office, giving them a glimpse into the world of aviation. Their kind notes and treats as we said goodbye today were deeply appreciated and made me think maybe I was meant to be a teacher! I hope we’ve sparked an interest in the field and inspired a few future aviators! A huge thank you to our staff who took the time to deliver insightful presentations, as well as to the Irish Air Corps, Weston Airport and their Flight School, and Trinity College Dublin for having us over and for their support. Your dedication and care made this week unforgettable and we can't thank you enough!
