With Akara’s continuous growth, we wanted to revamp our #MeetTheTeam to highlight our amazing team that helps us stay innovative in the #startup landscape. In particular, we wanted to highlight our interns in our special #InternHighlights piece starting with Gaurav Sethia 🎉 While Gaurav has only been with us for almost three months as a computer vision intern, he has made great strides in his Summer internship with us. His current work involves developing "deep-learning" based computer vision models. He works closely with the team to utilise these models to understand the world around our robot and integrated systems to provide insightful data about the environments we work in 🏥 💡 It’s no surprise that Gaurav works well with us at Akara given his background from Carnegie Mellon University, the heart of robotics in the US, where he is working towards his Masters in Robotics Systems Development. Alongside that, he has been a part of various other startups and has taken part in two IEEE robotic standardization efforts 🤖 While he’s not tinkering with robots and deep-learning models, Gaurav loves learning about various cultures through their cuisines and is a well-known sportsman having played Taekwondo at an Indian National Level 🥋 Thanks to Gaurav, understanding healthcare settings has only gotten easier for us and we have him to thank for his perseverance and his attitude towards constant learning ✨ #Meettheteam #HealthcareInnovation #TechStartup

A blast from the past! 🚀🤖 In 2019, we trialled our social robot called Stevie at Knollwood and the Army Distaff Foundation, which put us on the map along with our feature story in TIME. Five years later, in 2024, our CEO Conor McGinn and Chief Robotics Officer Niamh Donnelly had the wonderful opportunity to share our updates at Knollwood once again, highlighting what we have been up to over the last five years as well as the strides we have made with regards to healthtech innovation 🏥 💡 We were greeted by the residents and staff, including Associate Executive Director James Michels, who were kind enough to see us in-house and who are equally excited about what’s in store and on the horizon for Akara Robotics. As we look to expand further into the #US market in the coming months, we remain grateful to our early US partners like Knollwood who continue to support us and are keen to stay up-to-date with our progress in the space 🌟✨ #HealthTech #Innovation #HealthTechInnovation #USExpansion #TechUpdates
