Allianz and Women’s Aid Strengthen Partnership
We are proud to announce a new phase in our partnership with Women's Aid Ireland, as we continue our commitment to tackling domestic abuse in Ireland. The announcement follows on from research* by the European Union Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA), which revealed that the number of women who have been directly impacted by domestic abuse across the country has increased. 35% of women in Ireland, more than 1 in 3, have now experienced psychological, physical and/or sexual abuse from an intimate partner, showing just how many people are directly impacted by the issue. With reports from An Garda Síochána indicating over 61,000 contacts related to domestic abuse in 2024, the need for action is more urgent than ever.
Over the next three years, Allianz will provide both financial and non-financial support to Women’s Aid, including educational campaigns to spark important conversations and raise awareness. We are also committed to educating our workforce, more than half of whom are women, on recognising the signs of abuse and accessing available resources.
Phillip Gronemeyer, CEO of Allianz, emphasises our mission: "We aim to secure futures and give courage to those subjected to domestic abuse. Our partnership with Women’s Aid strengthens our stand alongside the increasing number of women impacted by this issue."
Sarah Benson, CEO of Women’s Aid, celebrates our collaboration: "Allianz has inspired lifesaving conversations over the past three years. We look forward to breaking more ground and breaking the taboo around domestic abuse."
Together, we strive towards a zero-tolerance society for domestic abuse. 💪 #Allianz #WomensAid #WorldsStrongestWomen
