Wind energy saved Ireland over €1.2 billion on gas in 2024 Ireland’s growing wind energy sector protected consumers from continued volatility in the gas sector throughout the year. Spending on gas for electricity in Ireland was cut by almost one billion euro last year, as wind energy supplied 32% of Ireland’s electricity. These figures come from the latest annual Cutting Carbon, Cutting Bills report from Baringa, in partnership with Wind Energy Ireland, which analyses the annual savings in gas consumption delivered by wind energy. These figures highlight how transitioning to renewable energy sources like wind can have a positive economic and environmental impact. Bord na Móna’s transition towards renewable energy, particularly wind, is helping to make Ireland’s energy landscape more sustainable and resilient. Bord na Móna's efforts are helping Ireland achieve more energy independence, lower costs, and reduce our carbon footprint. #sustainability #BordnaMóna #renewableenergy #ireland

We’re proud to share the key findings from our 2024 Gender Pay Gap Report, which highlights the progress we’ve made in fostering equality, diversity, and inclusion across our organisation. Key Highlights include a mean hourly gender pay gap of –11.25% and a median hourly gender pay gap of – 9.98% , both in favour of females. At board level, we are pleased to report a strong representation of 60% women, reflecting our dedication to gender equality at the highest level of governance. These results reflect the proactive measures we’ve taken, including: - Leveraging initiatives such as our Female Mentoring Academies to nurture leadership potential. - The introduction of workplace policies across the areas of Hybrid Working, Menopause, and Domestic Violence to support our employees. - Collaborations with the Irish Centre for Diversity to promote inclusive hiring and expand diverse talent pools in traditionally male-dominated roles. This year’s results demonstrate our commitment to bridging the gender pay gap and ensuring equality at every level. By embedding Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion principles into everything we do, we’re fostering a culture of fairness and mutual respect, while we continue to build towards a climate-neutral future. #GenderPayGap #renewableenergy #BordnaMóna #diversity #EDI
