Some of our team in Ballineen recently took part in a Nature and Nurture Fundraiser in aid of First Light. Making use of the good weather, team members enjoyed a yoga session while learning about the history and wildlife of our Walled Garden area 🌻 The money raised will go towards helping First Light to provide professional crisis intervention and counselling services to parents and families. Well done to all who took part 👏

Food is the third most basic human need after air and water – everyone should have the right to adequate food. Today on #WorldFoodDay, which highlights that 733 million people globally still face hunger in the world, we are showcasing some of the work that our global teams do in their communities to address food poverty and access. https://lnkd.in/d2_3ePjg

Today marks #WorldMentalHealthDay and this year’s theme is Mental Health at Work. Our farmers are at the core of everything we do. They face twice the risk of suicide and poor mental health than the non-farming community, according to a recent report from the UCD Agri Mental Health Group. It’s important that the farming community are aware of the supports available, and make use of them. This World Mental Health Day, take some time to look after your mental health by engaging with some of the resources available: - The Irish Farmer’s Association Mental Health Support: https://okt.to/MZd9N2 - YourMentalHealth.ie https://okt.to/TBWGjn - Mental Health Ireland’s Farming Resilience page: https://okt.to/EQeSbd

“The story of co-ops is an incredible one. Some of them are 100 years old and there is a sense of connection to the community with a co-op. I get to see the impact here. The sector is a big employer and contributor to the economy.” An excerpt from the article by Linda Daly of the Sunday Times in her piece this week with Jason Hawkins. We appreciate the opportunity to tell the story of Carbery and outline the hopes and expectations for farming and our organisation into the future.
