About us

Ornua is a dairy co-operative which sells dairy products on behalf of its Member Co-ops; Ireland’s dairy processors and, in turn, Irish dairy farmers. It is Ireland’s largest exporter of Irish dairy products, exporting to 110 countries worldwide. Headquartered in Dublin, it has annualised sales of over €3.4 billion and a global team of 3,000 employees. Ornua operates from 10 business units worldwide, including 16 production facilities, and has sales and marketing teams working in-market across all four corners of the globe. The Group is structured across two divisions: Ornua Foods and Ornua Ingredients. Ornua Foods is responsible for the marketing and sales of Ornua’s consumer brands including Kerrygold, Dubliner, Pilgrims Choice, Forto and BEO. Markets are served by production facilities and in-market sales and marketing teams in Africa, Asia, Germany, Ireland, the UK, the rest of Europe, the Middle East and the US. Ornua Ingredients is responsible for the procurement of Irish and non-Irish dairy products and for the sale of dairy ingredients to food manufacturing and foodservice customers across the world. Ornua Ingredients is also responsible for managing volatility through de-risking and trading strategies. The business is supported by production facilities in Saudi Arabia, Spain, the UK, the US and by in-market teams in Africa and the Middle East.

    The latest Ornua Global Dairy Market Report is now available.   🌍 Global milk flows will turn positive in the second half of the year, though supply should flatten by the end of the year.   🛒 Retail dairy sales stabilised, though after a strong start to the year, export demand has eased.   🔎 Market sentiment weakened, though activity usually slows in July and August and commodity pricing remains high. In his role as Managing Director, Cesar will be responsible for driving the continued success and ambitious growth plans for the much-loved Kerrygold brand, securing its position as a global leading food brand.    Announcing the appointment, Conor Galvin, CEO Ornua said “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Cesar França as the new Managing Director of Global Foods. Cesar brings extensive global FMCG experience to Ornua.     West Africa Regional Manager at Bord Bia The Irish Food Bord - Supporting the growth of Irish Food and Drinks exports to West Africa

    1st of June was a day dedicated to celebrating the nutritious goodness of dairy. This year's World Milk Day theme was "Enjoy Dairy," Bord Bia - The Irish Food Board and Ornua, collaborated in a joint campaign highlighting the rich heritage of Irish Dairy. The "Everything Milk" campaign held at Ikeja City Mall on the 1st and 2nd of June allowed consumers to engage with their favorite Irish dairy brand and explore milk in various forms. The primary focus was on educating consumers about the benefits of milk consumption, emphasizing its significance in our diet even amidst economic challenges. Quality milk products remain a valuable source of protein in our diets.     The Connelly family, based in Tuam, Co. Galway, have been farming for five generations. Transitioning to dairy farming in 2018, they have since integrated cutting-edge technology to enhance both the financial and ecological prosperity of their farm. Yvonne, Austin and daughters Ava, Anna, Jane and Kate are future-focused when it comes to developing the next generation of Irish female dairy farmers, as well as championing sustainable practices on farm.     Today was such a fantastic day, had the opportunity to attend #Tcpid #scifest event. The students showcased their end of year project and the standard was incredible! What an engaged, enthusiastic group of young people! The SciFest inniative with TCPID is sponsored by Abbott and one of my biggest take aways was from the mentors who shared what a positive experience they had working on the projects with the students. It was so evident the benefits to both mentors and students - Well done team Abbott 👏🏻 Ornua is delighted to partner with the TCPID programme- keep up the amazing work @mariadevitt and all the team. Big shout out to all the students who will be representing Ireland in the upcoming special olympics …. We will be cheering you on! 🏅
