Updates

  • We’ve been nominated in the The Irish Sponsorship Awards and we're a finalist in TWO categories 🎉 🙌 : Best Entertainment & Event Sponsorship + Innovation in Sponsorship.   This recognition is for our incredible collaboration with our new Premium Partner #Tanqueray 0.0% (Diageo)   As a partnership, we worked hard to put audience and artist first, and launched the 'Tanqueray 0.0% Film Club': an unmissable series of filmmaker conversations. Our first guests included 🏆 Oscar winner Steve McQueen, 🧝♂️ Actor Hugo Weaving, 🎬 Producer extraordinaire Trudie Styler (Lock Stock, Snatch), and 🎉 Irish Actress, writer and Tanqueray Brand Ambassador @Amy Huberman.   We’re so proud to get this nomination in our first year of the new partnership. Congrats to all the other finalists, and we’ll see you in September for the big night. And a massive thanks to PHD media and Lauren Kavanagh who’ve championed and supported this collaboration from Day 1.

  • 📣 MORE PANELLISTS ADDED 📣 We're very excited to add two more panellists to the lineup for tomorrow's DIFF Circle: Short Film Festival Strategy event! Filmmakers Nell Hensey (Good Chips, Falling For The Life Of Alex Whelan) and TJ O’Grady-Peyton (Wave, Silence) will be joining us to share their expertise on getting your short film screened at festivals. There's still time to book your free place: https://bit.ly/4fzWc3v Tomorrow | 6pm | ONLINE Supported by Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland

  • Last week we got the 'Handsome Devil' family back together! 🙌🏽 🙌🏽 We welcomed Director John Butler, Fionn O'Shea, Mark Doherty, Mark Lavery, Clinton Liberty and Amy Huberman to the Light House Cinema for a very special screening. This incredible film premiered at #DIFF in 2017, and seven years on it's still as relevant, tender and "impossible to resist". The gathering was part of our ongoing series of unmissable events as part of the 🎬 #Tanqueray 0.0% Film Club🍸 Great conversation, thought provoking questions, and an insight into Fionn's attempts to grow his hair (using gravity 🤷♂️) for the role... Its great to bring audiences and artists together outside of the annual festival. We're doing it much more often now 💁♀️📆 so keep on eye our socials! Big shout out to Treasure Entertainment for making it all possible!

The role’s dual functions will allow the right candidate to learn about the workings of all aspects of a film festival by providing administration support to the Executive Team, and by working closely with the Executive Festival Director, Grainne Humphreys, who has core responsibility for Programming. This is paid internship based at the DIFF HQ in The Digital Hub Development Agency in Dublin, D8. • We’re excited to announce that our Festival Director Grainne Humphreys has been shortlisted for 2024 IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year awards 👏 There’s a stellar line up of Creative Businesswomen in the category, and we wish all of them the best of luck! A note from the Director: "I'm genuinely humbled by the nomination for IMAGE PwC Businesswoman of the Year - CREATIVE BUSINESSWOMAN of the Year! and I'm delighted to be included amongst such an illustrious group of fellow nominees. It’s a particular honour to be recognised after the successful delivery of this year’s Dublin International Film Festival. As an arts organisation we use our wits and experience, our wiles and our creativity to design every festival for both the artists and the audiences - and this year we delivered an event for the ages. The success of the festival is very much due to the team effort of the DIFF staff and board and the dazzling array of partners and patrons who support us. This nomination is shared with my wonderful colleagues." We’re looking forward to the #BWOTY ceremony on 10th May. #DublinIFF24 #dublininternationalfilmfestival
