  • Breaking Barriers – Woman Led, Town Chamber First To Claim National Title!    Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber has been named Chamber of the Year at the 2023 Chamber Awards.   For the first time the Award has been bestowed to a Town Chamber, and significantly the first time too for a female led Chamber.   The annual Chamber Awards seek to recognise the outstanding work of Chambers around the country. These Awards are a chance for Chambers to showcase their achievements across a variety of categories, from innovative projects to successful events, as well as creative collaborations between companies, local authorities and more. The awards are organized by Chambers Ireland and sponsored by Zurich Insurance   The D&WW Chamber also scooped two category awards: ‘Partnership for Business’ category for their work supporting Ukrainian refugees gaining local employment. ‘Event of the Year’ as they carried out the first ‘Menopause In The Workplace’ event for employers in the country. CEO of Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber, Jenny Beresford is delighted with the Awards. “We are so proud in particular to be awarded Chamber of The Year, it’s the highest honour in our industry! I feel that we’ve broken glass ceilings by winning this award. We are the first female led Chamber and the first town Chamber to ever win, that’s hugely powerful! We think outside the box and we’re not afraid to confront difficult issues, We’re constantly challenging ourselves, running innovative projects and initiatives so our valued members get the benefit. We are pioneering,  to be recognized nationally for this is really special.”     President of Chambers Ireland, Fiona Candon, said: “Being named Chamber of the Year is testament to the scale of work being undertaken by Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber. It reflects the huge amount of talent and dedication within the Chamber and underlines how impressively they have managed and adapted their activity to meet the needs of their members.   “What truly impressed our judges was how much Dungarvan & West #Waterford Chamber engaged with its community. This is a group of strong communicators, relationship builders and people who care deeply about their town and county. The Chamber produced a series of excellent events and projects which undoubtedly contributed positively to the community of #Dungarvan and surrounding region. Overall, the quality of the applications across all categories showed the high level of work being done by our Chambers across the country.”     Speaking about the Awards Oren Byrne #Chamber President said; “We are delighted to work with our 330+ members every day, leading initiatives that make our area a better place to do business, driving new projects and a progressive agenda. Being recognized on a national stage as the best Chamber In Ireland 2023 is a win for all our members and stakeholders.”    #business #awards #creative #projects #employment #community
