Amazing scenes from Shirango, Kenya, as the well drillers have finally struck water! This development means a different way of life for those in the local community - the most immediate being an end to 15 km long treks to secure water. It also means that those who used to undertake that daily walk will be able to attend school instead and further their prospects through education and knowledge. Our purpose is to safely deliver sustainable water and wastewater to communities and in recent years, we have also aligned with 7 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. To see the importance of the well and the excitement in the community just furthers our commitment to supporting these efforts whenever we can. Congratulations to all behind the Shirango Well Project, Dan Ducey, John Ryan and Joseph Clancy - your effort and determination is making a real difference in the world and we are delighted to play any part possible in helping to continue those achievements🚰💧 #RethinkingWater http://www.projectespwa.ie

Fantastic to see the St. Marys U13s GAA team in Donore Co. Meath (and Austin Kennedy, GM of IPP Ireland), whose two sons are members of the team, wearing our logo with pride! So many of our team members across the Group give their time and efforts to sporting organisations in their local communities so we’re always happy to support that activity whenever we can. Delighted to sponsor the training tops for the boys - and wishing them every success! #RethinkingWater #RethinkingRecreation

It might be the weekend but we’re still catching up on content gathered during the week! It was our pleasure to welcome Jason Roberts and Stuart Lumsden from KSB Company for a product familiarisation and training session. They’re no strangers to our Head Office but this time they brought news of an exciting new product development - the AmaRex Pro smart pump, a very exciting, innovative product we look forward to bringing to our customers. We had 11 team members from all business divisions, product sales, service and contracts in our training room, with 26 from our other branches including Naas and Ballyhaunis as well as some EPS Water UK colleagues connecting over Teams before it was onwards to Bangor to join the DPS team. Always wonderful to reconnect with valued product partners and their representatives and to learn about new developments which will assist our teams and our customers as we continue #RethinkingWater

Another week, another tradeshow attendance! Martin Walsh and Pat Brosnan from our Design and Manufacturing team headed to Hanover this week to attend EuroBLECH - International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition with members of the LINC Engineering Network. Euroblech is a trade show for mechanical engineering equipment and our main purpose in attending was to investigate new machinery to assist us in delivering fabrication projects. We also got the chance to meet with some of our existing suppliers and network with new ones. The exhibition is specifically targeted to those in the sheet metal working industry with visitors, like ourselves, from all over the world. They were surrounded by lots of inspiring installations and scenes, so we're looking forward to hearing more about what they learned over the few days! #RethinkingWater

🏆It’s done it again! 🏆 The Winchburgh Wastewater Treatment Plant has been recognised as Mechanical Engineering Project of the Year at the 2024 Engineering Excellence Awards! And what perfect timing, as we prepare for the now multi award winning (!) site’s official opening next week! 👏 This very unique project leveraged our digital delivery expertise to successfully design and build the plant during the global pandemic using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) and collaborative design through digital tools, which helped deliver quicker construction, improved quality and reduced HSE risk during an incredibly challenging design and construction environment created by the Covid-19 pandemic. Congratulations too to our client Scottish Water, their delivery partners ESD Joint Venture and technology partner Royal HaskoningDHV and their Nereda wastewater treatment technology. Looking forward to raising a toast to all at the official opening on Wednesday! 🍾 Representing us at the awards were Project Managers Joseph Watkins, Mary Ita Murphy, Wain Ferguson and Eoin Geary. #RethinkingWater #RethinkingRewards

The benefits to flexible and hybrid working for our team members can be seen to best effect when they also help to facilitate the dreams of a child! 9 year old Polina Shkliar is the daughter of Tetiana, a member of our Data Centre delivery team originally from Ukraine but now based in Poland. Polina is an aspiring actress and was chosen to be part of a performance group of 21 Ukrainian, Polish, Belarusian mothers and their children aged from 9 (Polina!) to 72, performing a piece called "Mothers. Song of the War Time" in Paris this month. They have already performed 45 times in Poland and across Europe, but were recently asked to perform 10 times in Paris. Naturally, Tetiana has seen the performance many times but never fails to be touched by it, connected as she and her family are to the war in her country and the role played by women. For their first Parisian performance, Tetiana reports that the theatre was full (around 700 people), many of them crying and empathizing with the women on stage as they connected with what the women were experiencing - their pain, their fear for their children and the sorrow for their homeland and loved ones. Tetiana can identify, as she too made the decision to take her children from Ukraine and move to Poland, so that they could have a normal childhood, go to school in peace and play in parks, instead of sitting in bomb shelters and witnessing all the violence happening in her home country. She has been a wonderful addition to the Data Centre team working diligently on a project in Warsaw so we are delighted that because of her role with us, she was able to bring Polina to Paris for the performances and maintain communication and progress on the Warsaw project at the same time. Thank you Tetiana and continued success to Polina! #RethinkingWater #RethinkingRecruitment

More international jet setting for the EPS rucksack 🤣✈️ You simply never know where they’ll end up, where they’ll be taken or where they’ll be spotted! These have easily been one of the most successful pieces of branded merchandise we’ve ever purchased and we’re currently working with our suppliers ordering versions for the Group companies which will include some brand specific ones - so you can expect more image variety once they’re delivered! But for now - safe travels to our international man of mystery 🤣✈️ #RethinkingWater #RethinkingRecreation

As we wrap up week 3 of Construction Industry Federation (CIF) Construction Safety Month, it's time to look back on some of the activities on our sites and in our branches around the country over the past 2 weeks. Week 2 focused on road safety, so we issued a number of Road Safety Authority videos to our teams, focusing on driving in wet conditions, the dangers posed by mobile phones while driving, the dangers of driving in sun glare and also held a driver safety presentation with An Garda Síochána in Naas. This past week kicked off with a video produced in-house on diesel spillages, with the rest of the week focused on safety standdowns from Achill to Castlemartyr and everywhere in between - and we really mean that - Limerick Junction, Drogheda, Knightstown, Murroe, Dunmore/Glenamaddy, Carrickmacross, Tullow, Ballyvaughan and Creagh! Ongoing thanks to our HSQE team for facilitating these events and we look forward to continued high attendances over the next week. #RethinkingWater #ThinkSafeWorkSafeBeSafe

What a incredible set of images to receive! We are proudly committed to our communities across Ireland, the UK and this one in Shirango, Kenya. Images like these really make you appreciate how important water is and that it's a precious resource we can take for granted in the developed world. We have been supporting the Shirango Well Project team in their efforts to drill a borehole for the community for the last few months, from providing technical consultations and training to actual equipment used in the project such as the submersible borehole pump, solar panels, cables, fittings, float switches, MDPE pipe and plastic liners. It was also wonderful to be able to connect the team including Dan Ducey, John Ryan, Pat Barry and others with Derry Desmond of Le Cheile Africa, another organisation we have previously supported who are also making a huge difference in Sagai, Kenya so they could share knowledge and local connections on the ground in Africa. Dan and Pat are pictured with a tree that was planted in the school grounds back in February which is showing great progress and growth since. Our purpose is to safely deliver sustainable water and wastewater to communities and in recent years, we have also aligned with 7 of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. We are truly privileged to be in a position to properly assist and support the hard working volunteers as they work to provide clean water and sanitation to the people of Shirango. #RethinkingWater

What a day we had at the Munster Maths and Science Family Fair at Mallow GAA Sports Complex today! We love attending this annual show as we engage the minds of our future colleagues & STEM students, showing them the practicalities of what we do everyday! All hands on deck with Sinead Browne, Claudia Kennedy, Sharon Fogarty, Anna Kerins, Louise O'Donnell BComm, Vincent Browne and John Fitzgerald taking turns to man the stand between 11am and 4pm. Lots of engagement to report - the freebies, quizzes, puzzles, colouring sheets & the lollipops may have drawn a few over! 🍭 We had lots to showcase this year, Vincent demonstrated how a drinking water sand filter cleans your water, Hyder Aswad and Sharon Manlangit were there to field questions about our solar solutions and this year’s challenging question was to guess how many salt tablets are in our new 10kg bag of eSoft tablets)! Our thanks to Mallow Development Partnership for another well run event! #RethinkingWater
