The construction and building sector accounts for 37% of Ireland’s emissions, making it a 🔑 area for change. However, addressing the environmental crisis goes beyond reducing carbon emissions. It involves a triple challenge: ☁️ Climate change 🧱 Resource depletion 🦋 Biodiversity loss The construction industry can be at the forefront of tackling these challenges, but no one can do it alone. The Irish Green Building Council is already working with the industry to address these issues and develop the tools needed. This new blog post on our website highlights some of these initiatives and how the construction sector can participate in them in 2025. 🧾 Read more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dqhMtQmM GIF Credits: WATG and Wimberly Interiors #VacantToViable #VacantToVibrant #HPI #MEPS #RenovationPassport #BuildingLife #BIONEIGHBOUR #CircularBuild Construct Innovate The Housing Agency Ireland Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Ireland

🌳 #NationalTreeWeek starts tomorrow! 🌳 Join us in celebrating the importance of trees and green spaces by embracing the 3-30-300 principle: 🌳 3 - Visible Green: Everyone should be able to see at least three large trees from where they live, work, learn, or receive care. This promotes psychological well-being and enhances mental recovery, concentration, learning, and creativity. 🌳 30 - Living Area or Climate Green: Neighborhoods should have at least 30% tree canopy cover. This provides environmental benefits like cooling and improved air quality while also enhancing our well-being and physical health and fostering social interactions. 🌳 300 - Recreational Green: We should all have a high-quality, publicly accessible green space of at least 0.5-1.0 hectares within 300 meters of our homes. This ensures accessibility for recreation and fosters community connections. Watch this beautiful video by Trädkontoret AB 👇
