From the need to adapt and remain agile to rapidly changing landscapes, to the value of embracing cognitive diversity and leveraging technology, KPMG's Ryan McCarthy talks to The Loop by ViewsHub on the future of board leadership in a changing world.
🗣 “Compared to where we were 10 or 15 years ago, the list of things that boards are worried about is worryingly unrecognizable. And fundamentally, board members are having to cope with issues they didn’t grow up with or have formal training in." 🗞️ In the latest edition of The Loop by ViewsHub, we sit down with Ryan McCarthy, Audit Partner and Board Leadership Centre Lead at KPMG Ireland, to discuss his thoughts on the future of board leadership in a changing world. 🏢 In our conversation, McCarthy shares his insights on the growing list of challenges facing boards today, considering both the lessons of past crises and the potential disruptions that lie ahead. 💡 We discuss the importance of resilience in the boardroom, the value of embracing diversity of thought and experience in improving performance, the potential of AI at board level, and the need for boards to continually challenge their own performance in a rapidly changing world. ✏️ Read the interview write-up here: https://lnkd.in/ez7WnkDJ 📰 And the full edition: https://lnkd.in/eaMRKmYs #theloop #viewshub #boardleadership #boards

We were delighted to host our latest Heads of Internal Audit Forum for the Banking Sector. The open forum provided attendees the opportunity to engage with peers and former colleagues to discuss the latest trends, practices and challenges being seen in the sector. A big thank you to our colleague Carmen Cronje, CISA who also provided a thoroughly engaging presentation for considerations on how internal audit functions can provide audit coverage over DORA implementation and compliance. We hope to host a similar event later in the year, if you are interested in attending please reach out to Colm Laird and Paul Carroll.
