Merchants Quay Ireland is a registered Irish charity, providing homeless and drug addiction services nationwide.

About us

Merchants Quay Ireland is a national voluntary organization that helps people who are dealing with homelessness and those caught in addiction. We provide frontline services, practical support, pathways towards recovery, and innovative responses to the issues of drug use and homelessness in Ireland. We believe in a society where no one has to face homelessness or addiction alone and where everyone has the support they need to reduce the harm caused by homelessness and addiction and to build a better life—an inclusive society where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. Our mission is to provide accessible, high-quality, and effective services to people experiencing homelessness and addiction in Ireland, meeting their complex needs in a non-judgmental and compassionate way. So far this year, we have supported 6,900 clients via our open access day service in Riverbank, Dublin, a 29% increase on the same period last year. We have also assisted 380 people over the age of 60, an 11% increase on 2023. As part of our ‘Cup of Kindness’ appeal, we have launched this video to highlight the fear, loneliness and stigma often experienced by people who are homeless or in addiction. We are appealing to you, to consider donating to via https://lnkd.in/eA5brJ3m so we can continue to be there to offer hope for those who need it most this winter. Thank you 💜

Deputy Head of Clinical Services, Orla Condren with Deputy Head of Operations and Service Delivery Dublin, Przemek Kluczenko in Lisbon’s Drug Consumption Facility. A huge thank you to the Lisbon team for showing us around and allowing our team to see the facility in operation ahead of opening Ireland’s first Medically Supervised Injecting Facility (MSIF) later this year.

"Coming to Riverbank for the first time can be a daunting experience. Especially hard for those who have never had to ask for help before. I just offer people the respect every one of us deserves." – Martin, MQI Crisis Support Worker A warm welcome, a hot cup of tea, and a dry set of clothes are the small acts of kindness that mean everything to those who need it most. 💙 Thanks to generosity, Martin and the team are there to give people the support they need, whatever that may be, one step at a time. Please give what you can today. Thank you. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eCJKpyRU #mqi #secondchances #hopeinthecold
