The firm was founded in 1988 in Dublin and over the years has grown to become one of the leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancies in the State, having worked successfully with all of the major public, semi-private and private clients in the Institutional, Commercial, Domestic & Industrial sectors. The practice has expanded to become an International Multidisciplinary Consulting Engineering firm with over 270 staff in Ireland and the UK. We provide Civil, Structural, Mechanical & Electrical, Sustainability and Traffic engineering design and consultancy, project management and PSDP services. OCSC is LEED, BREEAM, Low Carbon Energy Assessor, CEEQUAL and ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001 accredited as well as being a CPD award winning engineering consultancy with an untiring focus on continuing personal and professional staff development. O’Connor Sutton Cronin had a fantastic evening at the IStructE 2024 Annual Dinner which took place on Friday evening at the Titanic Hotel, this was a great event celebrating Structural Engineering and highlighting award-winning projects. 🏓 Ormeau Corporate League 2024/25 Kicks Off in Style! 🏓 Last night marked the exciting opening of the Ormeau Corporate League season, with 11 teams competing across 2 divisions and a fantastic energy filling the hall! A big Ormeau welcome to our new teams Trace First and CME Group! Trace First brings extensive experience in IT systems for agriculture, addressing vital needs in animal health and agricultural information since 2007. CME Group joins us as the world’s leading derivatives marketplace, renowned for risk management solutions across various sectors. Rapid7 also returns after a few seasons, bringing trusted expertise in cybersecurity tools and a dedicated team for this season’s competition. Opening Night Highlights: Division 1: O'Connor Sutton Cronin 'A' made a statement, with Trevor Knox joining forces with Aaron Kearney and Karthik Jyothy to win 6-1 over Citi 'B.' Highlights included Aaron and Trevor winning their singles and doubles, while Citi’s Shaharyar Siddiq snagged a single win. Citi 'A' battled Fujitsu Lockton in a nail-biting finish, winning 4-3. Fujitsu’s Andrew Gibson remained unbeaten in his singles, while Citi’s Adrian Brown, APOORV Sharma, and Harshavardhan PS each won singles, with Harshavardhan and Apoorv also taking the doubles. Division 2: Trace First put up a strong fight in their first match, narrowly falling to NantHealth 4-3. NantHealth’s Guillaume was man of the match, besting Brian Morrow and David Morrow in singles. Teammates Omar Reyal and @Matthew McGowan also secured singles victories. Newcomers CME Group and Rapid7 faced off, with CME emerging victorious at 5-2. Manus McColgan earned the man of the match title, clinching 2 singles wins and a doubles win. Gokul Ravikumar and Darragh Madden added another win, rounding out a solid debut for CME. We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Rivenwood Housing Development's civil design, featuring innovative Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) including a swale and a detention pond. This project marks a significant milestone as it is the first of its kind to receive approval from the Storm Water Management Group in Northern Ireland. O'Connor Sutton Cronin had a site visit yesterday at our UCD Belfield Campus Sport’s Precinct Civil Engineering Infrastructure project followed by a tour of the School of Civil Engineering laboratories where we were treated to a demonstration of the practical experimentation of the PhD student Puneeta Sreenivas and Masters research student Wenhui Wei. The visit was organised by Dr. John O’Sullivan Head of School and facilitated by Dr. Fiachra O’Loughlin and Dr PJ Purcell as well as David Morgan (Senior Technician) and Manni Rezaee (Technician). O'Connor Sutton Cronin provided the full civil design for the Active Travel Upgrades along Dublin Road from Xerox Junction R132 (R125 Intersection) heading northwards towards Riverside Walk for a total length of 2km. It's proposed to install high-quality, segregated pedestrian and cycling infrastructure to enhance safety and promote active travel. Key features of the proposal include: ✔️Junction Improvements: Enhancements throughout the route are designed to create safer pedestrian and cycling environments. ✔️Existing Bus Stops: Upgraded facilities at existing bus stops will cater to both pedestrians and cyclists. ✔️Accessibility Enhancements: The project aims to upgrade entrances along the route for improved accessibility. ✔️Cycling Facilities: Identification of potential locations for safe cycling paths along the route, maximising connectivity and integration with existing cycling networks. ✔️Environmental Considerations: The design will also improve the landscaping and biodiversity along the full length of the scheme, including enhancements to sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS). This proposal is part of a wider initiative to support active travel and improve local commuting options, benefiting cyclists and pedestrians along the designated routes.
