This documentary captures the National Ukrainian Choir’s journey to recording and performing Phil Coulter’s song ‘Steal Away’. The song tells the story of a couple who escape the Troubles, and offers many parallels with the situation Ukrainians experience today. The choir was brought together by Local Development Companies and supported by our Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP). https://lnkd.in/esTnSXBr

#WorldMentalHealthDay, 10 October 2024 Connecting with nature is essential for mental well-being! Some studies have shown that being in natural environments can reduce stress and promote relaxation. As humans, we have an innate connection to the natural world, a concept known as biophilia. Whether you're mentally tired or simply seeking peace, visiting parks and gardens can help restore focus and improve your mood. Be sure to step away from your desks and discover the calming power of nature in OPW’s beautiful parks and gardens today! Carbon Literacy Training for Heritage Professionals! Our Education Directors, Dr. Sarah Forgesson and Dr. Will Megarry, and our Insights Coordinator, Délie Ronsin-Quéchon, recently led impactful Carbon Literacy Training, both online with the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) Climate Action Working Group and in-person in Dublin with the Irish Government’s National Monuments Service and Office of Public Works! This training empowered heritage professionals to understand the intersections between climate change and cultural heritage, helping them take meaningful climate action. The results speak for themselves—attendees showed a significant increase in climate literacy after the sessions! Huge thanks to ICOMOS and our incredible partners in Ireland for making this possible!
