Our school visits have kicked off for 2024/2025. Thank you to you student engineers who have been assisting the REEdI team and sharing their experience of the BEng in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.

Had the pleasure of presenting to the 1st year REEdI@MTU group yesterday with previous Innovation Challenge winners Christian Karamagi & Jia Chyen Queek who were part of the The Crann Centre challenge winning team 2024. Looking forward to meeting all the new participants this January 💡

Thank you to Cian Lawless, 2nd year REEdI Student Engineer who arranged for Noel Cronin to speak to him and his class. Guest speakers and lecturers are an integral part of the REEdI BEng in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. Students get the opportunity to hear from engineers working in various aspects of industry, learn about real life experiences and different career paths.

A huge thank you to Monika Dukarska OLY for her inspirational guest lecture to our 2nd year student engineers on the REEdI at MTU BEng in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (CAO MT834)👏 Monika shared her rollercoaster journey from Poland to Killorglin, to the Tokyo Olympics and now 4-Time World Coastal Rowing Champion. Highlighting the importance of just doing your best, focusing on small incremental improvements and bouncing back from setbacks, which Monika modestly dismisses as just part of her journey. The student engineers were blown away by the time management and organisational skills required to juggle a full-time job, complete a PhD and train like an Olympian, yet still have time to drop by the class and share your story. REEdI are excited to announce that Dr Fiona Boyle, PhD, MIEI, PFHEA, Director of REEdI and Head of Department of STEM, has been awarded the prestigious title of Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), Advance HE. Dr Boyle is Munster Technological University's first recipient of this distinguished recognition and one of only a select number in Ireland.
