Allow us to reintroduce ourselves. What is Shane Collective? The plans for Shane Collective began in 2018, inspired by our international team’s own experiences and the need for a tool to help LGBTQ+ individuals navigate the world with confidence. Now a queer-owned, Ireland-based startup, we're launching Shane—a global app and platform that combines user-driven search, navigation, and real-time safety features to create a trusted network of supportive spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals. With Shane, users can: 1. Find trusted, user-reviewed spaces like inclusive businesses, healthcare providers, and community resources. 2. Choose the safest route to navigate confidently to these spaces with in-app directions. 3. Stay safe with emergency tools like live location sharing, quick alerts to contacts, and easy access to emergency services if they feel unsafe. Shane also includes a non-sponsored Shane Certification feature, highlighting verified, inclusive spaces to help users identify welcoming environments even more easily. Certified spaces are marked on the platform, giving users added confidence when choosing where to go. Launching next month, Shane is here to support LGBTQ+ individuals worldwide.
