Lá a Ceathair ag Seastán Teagasc – Feirmeoireacht, Eolaíocht & Nuálaíocht! Bhí lá iontach eile againn inniu ag ESB Science Blast, áit a raibh daltaí ag foghlaim faoi theicneolaíocht feirmeoireachta, céadfaí an duine, géineolaíocht agus go leor eile! Tomás Russell – Thug sé samhail feirme leis chun teicneolaíochtaí nua-aimseartha i bhfeirmeoireacht na hÉireann a léiriú do na daltaí san VistaMilk. Emily Crofton – D’aimsigh cuairteoirí an eolaíocht taobh thiar dá gcéadfaí féin, ag tástáil a gcumas dathanna agus bolaithe a aithint, agus ag foghlaim faoi ról na heolaíochta céadfacha i bhforbairt bia. Sara Dunny Fox – Mhínigh sí conas a chuidíonn géineolaíocht le bainistiú comhtháite lotnaidí, trí éagsúlacht sa phráta a léiriú, samhail den DNA a úsáid, agus clár cluiche idirghníomhach a imirt! Ella Mulkerrins – Thaispeáin sí conas a úsáidtear dróin chun galair a bhrath i bhféar, an príomhfhoinse bia d’ainmhithe déiríochta in Éirinn. Míle buíochas lenár bhfoireann dochreidte agus gach duine a tháinig chugainn! Slán go fóill ó ESB Science Blast – feicimid sibh an bhliain seo chugainn! Translation: Day Four at the Teagasc Stand – Farming, Science & Innovation! Another fantastic day at ESB Science Blast, where students explored farming technology, human senses, genetics, and much more! Tomás – Brought a model farm to showcase the latest technologies in Irish agriculture at VistaMilk, giving students a hands-on experience. Emily – Took visitors on a journey into the science behind their senses, testing their ability to recognize colors and smells while explaining how sensory science is used in food development. Sara – Explained how genetics plays a role in integrated pest management, demonstrating potato diversity, using a DNA model, and engaging students with an interactive genetics board game! Ella – Showcased how drones are being used to detect plant diseases in grass, the primary food source for Ireland’s dairy animals. A huge thank you to our amazing team coordinated by Eimear Ferguson and everyone who visited us! That’s a wrap from ESB Science Blast – see you all next year! 🌟
